Absolutely brilliant so far! Watched the first 5 episodes over the last few days. This could be what fills the hole that Lost has left...

For those that haven't/ cant be bothered to download, it starts on C4 on Friday at 9pm...

Yes, not bad so far, although there have been a couple of 'thats a bit convenient' moments in it so as the 'good guys' manage to get away but if they keep that to a minimum it could be good :)

I thought you were talking about George Osborne ripping out the heart of the country and eating it
live on Sky news !!!!

gave up after episode 3-it will go round in circles forever with no answers whatsoever being given-had enough of that with flash forward and heroes.an interesting concept to be sure, but cant be bothered to invest the time in something that will either get cancelled or just become more convaluted as each episode unfolds.

Well its gonna be at least 22 episodes as was only confirmed on Monday....but can see where you are coming from!

yep-Im not saying its a bad programme-if they stated right now that its 22 eps and the story will end there, then I would watch it-but its geared for multiple seasons if its successful and Im kinda tired of stuff like this. With progs like dexter/mad men/boardwalk empire, they follow a certain timeline and each season has a story within a story so when each season ends you feel satisfied about it. But the event is trying to be the "next lost"and can only deteriorate over time as a result-if every week you tune in for answers, and just get hit with more ridiculous questions its all getting a bit boring now-just my opinion tho-Im sure plenty will enjoy it.

destined to go the same way as flashforward if the ratings are anything to go by (lost 50% of viewers since the pilot). I thought it was crap tbh but quite amusing.

I'd put money on that this wont get a series 2 so wont waste my time watching 22 episodes only to be left in the middle of a storyline.

Most shows drop after the pilot, this started at 3.6 and seems to have stabilised around 2.2, anything dropping under 2.0 on NBC is likely to get dropped so as long as it stays where it is, it will be safe.

Hopefully if it is cancelled they will get enough notice to re-write the end though so we get answers.

Enjoy it while you can as its a dead cert to be cancelled:-

Start the cancellation watch for “The Event.” The show dropped another 20% in the 18-49 demo, dropping to a 2.4 rating, and 7.4 million viewers. Sorry fans, this isn’t the next “Lost,” and don’t expect it to stick around very long.

Now dropped another 15% since that article two weeks ago (down to 6.3 million viewers). NBC wont go for a series 2 with those figures. Hopefully, as Colin mentioned, they havent filmed the series 1 finale so at least they can quickly try and write and film some kind of ending (unlike flashforward!).

Could not agree more with this post. I find this type of series a throwback to when I was growing up. Series in those days would have a backstory (a reason for existing or a quirky hook). You would then have the real shape of the series, Fugitive is a great example of this with more or less whole stories each week, but usually with a little reminder of the original driver dropped in somewhere.

The modern twist of this seems to be to build the back story into some kind of monster. When this began an attempt was made to give some real progress and movement. However for me lost was the point where lazy and greedy TV execs realised you could seemingly add one ridiculous "complexity" after another and by the end it would be so confusing that any "resolution" or in fact no resolution would do just fine.

I am wondering how long they are going to get away with this before enough people get wise.

Wonder how long it will be before BG1 claims to be in it.

Thats a shame, looked brilliant from the first 2 episodes. i would be more than happy with 1 great series (including ending) but thats unlikely i suppose.

Watched last night. Looks okay

I was not expecting it but the series i'm most enjoying watching out of the new crop is 'Terriers' with Donal Logue. In a weird way it kind of reminds me a little of Veronica Mars with them doing their private investigating each week but having a larger arch plot that develops over a number of episodes.

I Sky plused this and watched this for the first time last night. Not sure if I like this yet or not, but it has potential. It reminds me a lot of 24. I think I prefer Haven.

Yeah, I had to keep rewinding to find out what time point the story was at.

The show is good but I find it's a cross between Lost, Heroes, Prison break and 24.

Has anyone been watching The Good Guys? Think its pretty good.
