Anyone able to answer my questions about jailbreaking an Iphone 3g

At the moment i've got a iPod touch 2g, I've jail braked it and so far it shows no side effects-everything works fine.
I like the interface alot, so have considered getting a iphone 3g, BUT was wondering about the following factors;

Can you get free apps if you Jailbrake it?
Is the only way i can get 3g internet, to have a o2 sim?
Can you download new apple firmware updates if its Jailbraked?
Will it permanently void the warranty?
Are there any other bad side effects?

thanks

Can you get free apps if you Jailbrake it? - Yep :)

Is the only way i can get 3g internet, to have a o2 sim? - I think so

Can you download new apple firmware updates if its Jailbraked? Yep, but you will have to jailbreak again after apple updates.

Will it permanently void the warranty? Maybe, depends if they find out you jailbroke it after you restore and try sending for repair.

Are there any other bad side effects? Sometimes its slower, few crashes, but nothing new updates can't fix :)

you can get 3g on any network that supports it.....I am on Orange and all works fine!!!

I have never experienced a crash yet....really good phone when you adapt in to your needs.

Have fun!

you may get 3G internet straight away, if you have good signal. the wifi however, comes from a router, e.g. your home or mcdonalds :thumbsup:
