I know that feeling.

I've been twice and I love it.

Weather can't be beaten the only thing you have to watch out for are dodgie food and shopkeepers dragging you into their shops!

I'll be going back thats for sure :-D

anyone stayed at the coral sea resort there? thats where im staying

Yes, went Sharm last year, it was fantastic, great . Stayed at the Reef Oasis Beach Resort but was then upgraded to the Reef Oasis Palms Resort, all inclusive and to be honest I'd go again. Loved it in Egypt, stay clear of the markets thou, the owners can be intimidating. Great snorkelling and scuba, The Reef Oasis had it's own private beach right on the National (Sea) Park. Gonna be real hot in August, we went in April and it was nearly 40 Degrees!!! Enjoy... www.reefoasisresorts.com. Italian owned resorts, loads of Russians in Sharm but not as many at the Reef, most in my experience are quite non communicative!

Had a great time, went all inc for the first time and I'd definitely go back. Shopkeepers can be intimidating so beware. Stayed at the Reef Oasis which had it's own pvt beach on the edge of the National Park, great place for scuba and snorkelling. August will be well hot, we went April and it was nearly 40 degrees. enjoy.

Neighbours are just back, said it was great, very clean and hotels are excellent, did say it was very hot mind you and there were lots of Russians there, don't know what hotel,if i see them will ask for you.Scuba diving is also supposed to be great.

yeh definatly going scuba diving

Yeah there are loads of russians who are not particularly friendly or communicative, that's why I chose the Reef Oasis, italian owned, more intalians and a bearable sprinkling of Russians!!! lol!

Never been there, but a quick search round the internet shows it is going to be REALLY hot.

Hot like you have probably not experienced before, hot like you dont feel like doing enything.

It is probably going to be around 100 degrees F (38 degress C), maybe more.

Even at night it is about 90 degress F (33 degress C).

As one web site says:
"Thus at times when traveling between April and September, the day will seem to foster egg-sizzling heat at times. "

Yearly temp here:

To be honest, I am not sure August is the best time to go to Egypt.

Just be careful, area of some political instability:

July 2005!

your point is, caller?

I wasn't aware of a seismic shift in the geo-political status of Egypt.

This is one of the reasons holidays to Sharm el Sheik are so cheap. Though best remember, if it was not safe, reputable tour operators would not even dream of advertising or selling holidays there.
There are some jaw droppingly low prices for 4 and 5 star all inclusive holidays there this summer, and most people who go come back raving about how great it was and keep on going back, so that makes me conclude it must be a nice place.

My great aunt was involved in that attack but luckly she was out of the resort. We are staying at coral sea resort and it costs just over £600 per person with first choice
