They are just a big iPod and can't run flash. What's the point?

I bought one

In all seriousness though, I bought the 32Gb+3G. Not worth the money at the moment, but I would have happily paid £450 for it. I grudgingly paid £600 for it. I love it though

Absolute waste of money in every way shape and form.

However, it is an extraordinary piece of kit. it really is beautiful, responsive and very, very sleek (played with one in the fanboi shop on Wednesday). My findings led to believe that it is very attractive, but still remains pointless for the price tag and I maintain that the money would be much better spent on a laptop/netbook - you could even put the money towards a MacBook for crying out loud! (And that's saying something, as I am fairly anti-Mac), or even on the new iPhone due to be released.

Lovely toy, stupid money. I'd consider it if it were around <£100

can you explain the limitations of not having flash capabilities.

eg exactly what are we missing out on?

is it a software limitation or hardware?

thanx

I looked at them but they're so useless I instantly decided not to get one. You can't even plug in a memory stick or card to look at pics, I have 8 year old laptops that can do that. Anyway my netbook was a fifth of the price and can do 15x more things. And before anyone says it I can easily afford one but I'm not stupid.

That's not true.:whistling:

(plus if you want to use sd cards then there's an adapter:thumbsup:)

Oh so it doesn't come built in.

I assume its a free add-on though seeing as you've just forked out over £400 for the actual device.

Flash is what most websites use for moving graphics and video. Quite often you will vome across sites that require flash player but you will not be able to see the flash video because apple will not allow it. its software.

When iPhone OS 4.0 comes out probably on Monday, it will enable multi-tasking, so youll also be able to do more than just one thing at a time on the iPad. (obviously you can jailbreak it right now and it will give you multi-tasking)
