Anyone bought tablets from Boots.com ?

I get a presription from my Dr for Propecia, as it's a private drug i take it to my local chemist and get charged £52 for 28 tablets.

I just looked on boots.com and it says £7.20 ? normal NHS prescription prices.

Has anyone bought from there before, as it asks if i have a prescription, well i did have until i cashed it in this morning.

Thanks

Ring your local Boots and ask for the Pharmacist and ask them.......they'll tell you for sure.

All GP written prescriptions are meant to be charge at the standard prescription rate of £7.20 (or whatever) per item. My doctor has started giving out only one month at a time to increase the number of times I have to pay. I've been offered private prescriptions before, when it's been cheaper, but never when it's more expensive. I think you're been diddled somewhere. Take the script into Boots and offer it up as a normal script - see what happens.

Edit: if it's something not available on the NHS, or something you're insisting on, but it's not necessary for your health, they may be charging you for private treatment/prescription that way. I imagine that may be up to your GP. In which case, you're not being diddled, just unfortunate!

Does it work?

The £7.20 is only for NHS, here you have to pay the price of the drug plus profit for the pharmacy as you have a private prescription. The pharmacy can charge whatever they like but most charge 50% profit. Morrisons is probably your best bet next time as they charge only £5 on top of the cost price of the drug.

Shame there isn't a Morrisons near me, boots come back as a private prescription at £41.54 which is still £10 cheaper, i just dont understand how they see my prescription as the tablets are posted to me ?

Not sure if they work yet, only just started taking them well the 28 tablets i got this morning are my second month supply.

You need to send the prescription to boots before they issue the tablets, can also choose to pickup from store.
