These guys look very proffessional. But I'm not sure.
I'm interested in hiring a car from them but their procedures seem a bit dodgy so was wondering if anyone has used them.

Basically, you dont pay any money up front, they send you a 'membership card' which within 48 hours you have to take to a PayPoint terminal and pay in £300 deposit for scratch and dent.
Then on the day the car gets delivered you par the driver cash for the car (which is £235 for an Audi Q7), and then when he comes to pick it back up he will check the car and if its ok give you back your £300 in cash.

What do people think? Has anyone tried them before?
They have a website http://www.hire-audi.com

Thanks in advance

Sorry never dealt with these people so can't recommend.

However, have you tried your local Audi dealer for comparison?

I logged onto mine and it came back with a daily rate for a Q7 of £112.

I've read your post a few times and if I were you I'd ask myself the following questions.

Why am I paying a deposit via a PayPoint terminal?

Why am I paying the driver cash for the rental?

How do I get back my £300 cash that you credited to your membership card?

Why is there no company or registered address or VAT number on the website?

Oh and finally they're going to give me £100 each time I recommend a friend who subsequently hires a car - and this will be paid via BACS to my bank account oO

I think once you've gone over these questions a few times I might just look elsewhere:D

The fact they want £300 via Paypoint sets off alarm bells. I don't know anything about it but I would assume it comes with little or no protection and is meant for sending money to people you trust - not for transactions with strangers. Much like Western Union.

If they don't take card, then stay away.

Yeh that's what I was thinking too.
I think I will stay away.
Thanks for the other link pluves1, I'll give them a call in the morning.

Stay away from these con-artists. I am a detailer and obviously have an eyes for detail. I hired an Audi A4 for £114.72 for a 'three day weekend' deal. When the driver collected the car he didn't check it for any problems. I was then sent a letter stating that ONE OF THE WHEELS was kerbed and will not be refunding my £300. I did not kerb any wheel, infact none of the wheels had any kerbing before or after the rental. Pure con-artists and not worth renting from here. STAY AWAY! Still not received my £300 back

ARE THEY LEGIT THEN?MEANING THEY ARE THE OFFICAL AUDI?

This is definatley a scam, if they are as prestige as they say they are, they would not be advertising on Gumtree!

hey people its a complete scam iv tried it my self! their posting leaflets around the manchester oldham area aswell as rochdale and sheffield from what i know. the scam is basically the deposit money they have you pay them by paypoint which is not refundable and very difficult to trace aswell. they provide you with fake insurance paperwork which i have and if anyone wants a copy just mail me. '' audi have also stated on their webiste the business is a scam and has no relation to them'' guess i i found out to late :(

Sarah have you paid them a deposit?
What I found dodgy as well was whenever I tried phoning them they would never answer and always callback with a private number.

There is an official Audi Hire company in Newcastle/Sunderland area though. But difinitely avoid these guys!
#11
Tim, so they do deliver and pick up the car from you?

When I 1st found out about this company I found out through Gumtree! I was looking at it and I was thinking to my self its to good to be true. They don't show know registered address and if you call the office line they keep you on wait for a long time. They try and make it look like as if their so legit. They say they are busy at the moment. Now they have changed the layouts and access to the websites. Before they had a page where it let you let them call you but now it doesn't. I left as message for them to call me and they called back two weeks later and the guy that spoke to me was sounding very dodgy and nervous. He said everything in a fast way. I told him how do I find out if its dodgy and he said if I give a deposit on the day I will know! I didnt want to sound that rude to him but I told him to F*** Off.

Giving cars to 18 year olds is to hard to belive!

If anyone did get any cars off them please let me know

Wtf? I'm only 52!
Go on though, enlighten me. I've seen these before and often wondered why these old posts are dug up by new members. I could understand one person finding the thread and posting, but nothing for a year and then 4 or 5?
[admin]#23
I think someone posted and then it jumped up to the top of Google for "hireaudi scam" so that brought in the new posters (as well as a legal threat re libel from hireaudi.com which is why I'm here now :) ).

What ever you do, DO NOT HIRE CARS OR DO BUSINESS WITH 'www.hireaudi.com'. THEY ARE CON-ARTISTS!!

Unfortunately i am a victim of their fraudulent activity, i gave a deposit of 420GBP and the car which i hired NEVER showed up!! Tried contacting them, rung them on numerous occasions, emailed them..even threatened them with the police, yet they did not contact me or refund my deposit!! SO BE AWARE!! Their website is very polished, dont be fooled!!
