Anyone else hate Wasps?

For the last 3 mornings I have been woken up by the sound of wings fluttering in my room. Due to the heat covers are usually half on the floor and it often scares the smeet out of me when I hear it.

Just wondering if anyone hates wasps as much as I do... I mean what do they do after all?

I had a really big one flying around the room last night and it had to go. Last year we had a nest nearby and we had loads of them in 2 of the rooms until we located the nest up in the roof and had to get rid of them. All this talk about staying still they wont sting is also a load of rubbish

Yes I hate them too & as far as I know unlike Bees they have absolutely no use at all ... although I'm sure after saying that a HUKD'er will know otherwise !
I have just read that it is only the female wasps that sting you ! didnt know that ....

they do have the same purpose to a degree as bees, but we have bees so we dont need them:whistling:

Well doing some research all I can find is that they are here for food for birds etc... So basically they are useless!

As far as I'm aware, I have never ever been stung by a wasp or a bee... so until that happens I'm not too bothered :).

I was stung some years ago, I was with a group of friends & was told to ''stand still & they will leave you alone'' ...... WRONG! I was stung on the side, it was really painful

Midges are the most annoying insects in my opinion, little b******s.

I've noticed some flying around lately, oh dear.

Yeah they are very annoying have quite a few in my garden due to a huge oak tree but still they don't wake me up in the morning!

I think they eat pests like greenfly, not sure though.

Had a wasps nest just outside the garage, sprayed it with Ant powder so they tracked it into the nest and killed them all.

are you my mrs in disguise? :?

Wasps are good.

Once they realise your not a flower, they will leave you alone...

As soon as you panic and run around they get worried and may attack...

We got woken up by 1 at 6am today,my partner got up and managed to shoo it out the window with the curtain, they keep coming in.
He got stung a few yrs bk when we on holiday,he was just walking along,he felt it land on his arm, time he looked to see what it was to brush it off,he got stung. He killed it for stinging him too,I was kinda worried incase he had an allergic reaction, being that he allergic to a lot anyway, and with us being out country aswell.

When we moved into our house I cleaned out the old loft insulation and put some new stuff in, was a 1.5ft wide abandoned wasp nest up there. Was up there again this spring and managed to kill what looked like a queen wasp. Since then however we keep getting wasps in our bathroom almost daily, don't know if they hibernate in cracks or something during winter?

oh was stung by a wasp when I was at primary school on the back of the neck, had a sting by a bee when I stroked its cute furry back too. Learnt my lesson now though and keep my distance from both species ;-)

This is the european wasp that I keep getting in my house

Killed about 20 of the blitters this month alone, was killing two in the bathroom then a 3rd came up behind me it was a tough battle but I fooled them into thinking I was a friendly guy

I fookin HATE wasps (and crocodiles, although you don't get too many of them in Wales).
For Gods sake dont squash 'em as when you do, they release some sort of odour that other wasps can sense and they go bloody bonkers about the fact you've killed their mate.
I've been hit by a car before now, trying to get away from a wasp. Looking back, being stung was probably the better of the two choices :-D

I knock them out, then flush them down the toilet. Though I think they are still able to release a distress signal as one came and tried to stab me in the back.
