would love to but our team just lost our 2 best shooters and i may be moving to small forward at the start of the season, depends on what rookies we get in, so i need my long shoot and mid range to improve but it damaging my close raange, im playing 2 hours a day and cant play anymore thn tht, im happy with the improvements ive made and i need to keep them at that level but now i need to improve my close range  just to get it back to the standard it was at

Buy Wii Sports Resort. I'm the new Larry Bird since playing basketball on that :p

Or watch Space Jam for some tips from Bugs and Daffy

There are basketball instruction videos that you can try finding on youtube etc.

just keep playing with your balls

sweet, then I'd say forget the long range game, just be the 'this is micoo's house' type of player. Check the **** out of all the razzle dazzle players when they go up for a lay up or try and set up alley oop... get the bounds. So it comes down to jumping and sprinting really... can never work on jumping higher and turning/sprinting enough... it's an exhausting game if your not a lazy player.

You should take ten 3 point shots.

Then take ten 2 point shots.

Repeat for a few hours a day, taking shots from different angles and distances.

'round robin' / 'around the world' style.

Where do you play mate? I used to play the first league abroad, but haven't really played for several years now ...

For the shooting, you need to train with at least one another person so you can concentrate on shooting consistently (the other person to pass you the balls). All depends on what level you're on. I guess from what you saying that you're not a rookie so you don't need to concentrate on style, but accuracy …?

Do those sprints every time you miss the free throw rather then wait for all 10 shots. This way every time you miss you have 2 length to sprint to think about what you did wrong :-D

Then you're never going to be a good player.

I didn't become a semi pro footballer at the age of 17 by just training when I feel like it. If you want to be better than your opponent you have to put in the hours training.

As Muhammed Ali said: I hated every minute of training, but I said, "Don't quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion.

You're not going to be a champion if you aren't willing to put the hours of training in at the gym.

I meant gym as the court, the place where you play basketball. Not as in lifting weights etc.

i do, as a said i play at least 2 hours a day atm i simply dont have time to do more than tht and with the possiblilty of being moved to the wing where i prefer to play i have to improve my ball handling which limits the amount of time i can spend on shooting too

So you can find time to post on here but not train for an extra few hours?

You haven't got the right attitude.

You've got to train harder. You can always train harder.

A few days ago I got to training 4 hours before it started just to work on my set pieces. It did get boring but it's something you have to do if you want to be the best you can. Even if it only improved my set pieces by 0.1% IMO it's more than worth it.
