I had a bike accident about 6 weeks ago and broke my thigh, dislocated/mangled my foot etc etc so I can't work or walk for 3-6 months, I also had my 2nd operation on Friday so im back onto strong pain killers.

This means i'm most likely the only 18 year old stuck inside for new years, will anyone be joining me? :(

I seriously can't stand New Years, it has turned in to an excuse for people to drink like crazy and act like idiots.

I will probably be staying in or staying at my boyfriends, most definetely not going to be heading out anywhere!

The problem with this kind of thread is that it's not going to be the cheeriest.

A friend house party was planned, but their grandad (who lives with them) died this morning - party cancelled obviously. So that means I'll be at home too! :)
#12
Well we should have been going to a house party at my sisters house but she decided to tell her husband of 5 yrs on xmas day that she had been having an affair :x so now were staying in...
and going to celebrate big time next weekend for my birthday....(i hope lol)

Would also like to wish you all a very happy new year and hope 2008 is better than 2007

We're having a house party! Babies are sleeping at momma's house :)

I tuned up at a house of an old family friend on New Year's Eve a couple of years back only to find that he'd died in the first week of December, not long after I was invited.

That was, erm, "fun".

Sorry to hear that mate, sounds like you are lucky to see Christmas and New Year at all, good luck to you and a speedy recovery hoped for ya! New Years eve is over-rated anyway and to go out New Years Eve is insane, taxis at extortionate rates, club entrance ridiculous amounts, queing for a drink long enough to sober up from your last one, cant move round the club (and the chicks) as its jammed! The list of reasons why not to go is way longer than the list of why to go!

I agree when i used to go out clubbing for new years at 16/17/18 it used to be great atmosphere everybody merry but not bladdered and very very few fights, midnight came and you could just grab any random member of the opposite sex that was handy and you was sorted for the night, these days try that and you would probably get bottled, I went out the friday before christmas for the first time in months an the first bar I entered it kicked off as I was waiting at the bar, bottles started flying everywhere a knife got pulled and I was outta there didnt want to see what happened next! Felt a bit guilty as I left my next door neighbour to sort it out but he gets paid to do it he's a "door supervisor" as they call them now so trained in the job.

I was stuck in hospital for three months before, all the other hospitals I had been in had put signs for the exit up. Looking back, I wish I had asked someone for directions.

You have a warped sense of humour
#26
Gotta hand it to you Ryouga, 1-0...

I wouldn't mind going out but no where to go really, I am definitely not into rowdy, expensive clubbing type malarkys, don't have any friends who are having parties and all my local pubs charge/sell tickets on NYE which I think is a skank etc so will probably just stay in with the OH and watch some fireworks from my window! :)
#28
I guess we can have a thread for New Year's Eve festivities later and people can chat there. :)

Sounds like a good idea duckmagic, Lego Star Wars arrived in the post today from lovefilm.com so it should keep me entertained for a bit :P

Being 6 day's away from my due date going out is not really an option for me.. oh and also the 4 other kids that we have might hinder us going out...

Aww macdoona! How's your pregnancy been honey? :)
#32
Good thanks.
Midwives reckoned I would have had it before christmas and were shocked to see me still going strong just after. Am now being driven up the wall with loads of bracton hicks and wishing it was all over.
#33
Awww honey :friends: Make sure you're drinking the raspberry tea & get your fella to give you some good lovin'!

I hope he/she comes soon & you're not in too much discomfort! :) xx
