Dont know if i have IBS but i know those stomach cramps can be extremely painful at times. Also you are likely to do some damage in the toilet. Just have to deal with it, eventually it goes, only a few more days methinks

try buscopan for the cramps,if it goes on much longer go see ur doc, times of stress bring it on for some people so have nice bath and massage x

I suffer from IBS and quite often wake up in the middle of the night - and fail to get back to sleep with the pain. There doesn't seem to be any food in particular that sets it off. The doctor prescribed me Spasmonal http://www.superliving.co.uk/pharmacy/body-health/bowels/irritable-bowel-syndrome/spasmonal-100-capsules-p.html

I don't seem to suffer from the frequent visits to the toilet as it sounds your having, but I hope you get yourself sorted soon.

This does not mean they won't for they op though, everyone is different, as I needed meds for a while 5 years ago, and they worked.

OP a good gp will also refer you to a dietician, to help you asses your diet, this helped me a lot, I no longe have issues anymore, unless I eat or drink certain things.

Yeh thanks will try and get to a doctor, the last time i saw a doctor about was about 15 years ago and this was after the doctor told me i have ibs, alot of people in my family have this :(

Don't bother seeing the doctor, I've been 7 times in the last 12 weeks, they can't do anything and none of the medicine works.

dcx_badass certainly does have a 'bad ass' then

I have IBS (diagnosed). Luckily mine doesn't give me pains or constipation; im pretty much the opposite. Peppermint oil helps some people but it didnt work for me; now the taste of peppermint just makes me feel sick.

dear oh dear ....... not a very clever thing to say.

I take Spasmonal as well. It works after a fashion, but take about 30 minutes to start to have an effect. But as my attacks can last up to an hour it's something.

It can be diet related, stress, or trauma, such as surgery, or an accident, even child birth.

Mine is related directly to having abdominal surgery- c-section.

Mine is hereditary

i have diagnosed IBS which started after a very bad bout of gastroenteritis (hope i spelt that right!) i find that if i eat fatty foods it really sets it off, it hasn't been to bad just lately though because i've been pretty chilled out, if i'm stressing about something i get it really bad with terrible cramps, bloating and literally running to the loo.
OP i'd have a day of work, and try and relax, have a nice soak in the bath or something because stress is the main factor for a lot of people.
