I do... it's awful.

Only had it twice ever, but it's totally incapacitating....I had it for about a month this time last year, and couldn't leave the house... felt like I was going to fall over when I stood up; like I was standing on sponge; like everything was spinning....

It's also known as Benign Positional Vertigo. Well.... the labyrinthitus causes the vertigo.

Don't go back to work just yet, take your time to recover.... :friends:

There are some good websites about it... I had it again in the Summer, but only for about 2 weeks.... it really is an awful thing....

Here's a website that helped me, when I didn't know what was happening to me: http://www.iamdizzy.com/

There are some good groups on Facebook too, if you have that - I can send you the details if you are a member on there....just let me know.

You need anti-biotics, by the way. And there are other things you can take which make it better... I take betahistine tablets, but they were the third lot I was tried on.

Hope you recover soon....

Lol! I'd never heard of it until I got it, either, heheh!

Actually, best advice I can give.... go onto YouTube and look for the Epley manoeuvre - I did this twice a day, and within 3 days, I was back to normal.

Work, depends on how frequent the attacks are.

Your car insurance would be invalid if anything happened. You need at least a week off, to assess how often the bouts occur and whether medication controls it or not.

Labrythitis lasts up to 3 weeks and is a viral infection and not helped by antibiotics. Although the symptoms of labrythitis and Menieres are very similar, they are very different conditions.

You need to be referred to ENT dept if symptoms go on for longer than a month.

Yahoo! Health
If the cause is bacterial, antibiotics will be prescribed. Viral infections cannot be cured with antibiotics

You MAY need antibiotics.
