Ok here's the deal, my OH bought an ipod touch a few months back, paid for it cash from comet. After a few months it developes a power button fault, it became very sensative just resting your finger on it would cause it to lock.
Took it back to comet to get it looked at and the manager said we could be liable for the repairs. I asked him to inspect it for any scratches or signs of damage. He said and wrote on the repair job sheet condition was "as new".
Nearly 6 weeks later and comet tell us apple are holding the ipod till a £60 repair fee is paid. Comet say their going to pay it as if their doing us a favour! What exactly do you pay £170 for? something which you can use incase it developes a manufactures fault?
So annoyed with the customer service, i would of taken it apart and replaced the switch but why should I when the product is weeks old.
Anyone with any advice, should of bought a cheaper one from ebay that i could repair myself when it goes wrong and not have to worry whether apple are going to generate unecessary bills.
