17/15/13-its become an epidemic now-once their topups run out they get no more money from me!

My friend used to do this all the time with her mum n her mum used to do it to her all the time I have occasionally rang downstairs to ask my dad something :p naughty I no x
#4
Yes I have to ignore texts/phone calls from upstairs soon.
They come down eventually, if you answer/reply you only encourage
them to continue doing it.....
#5
Mine are. It takes a good few minutes saying, explaining, pleading and threatening to get them upstairs to get their own shoes for example.

Threatening is "I'll switch the tv off, take the ds lite off" etc :p

It's not laze, it's just efficiency and smart planning. S'like, I was at my cousin's not long ago, and sent her downstairs to find something. I got a phonecall 20 seconds later, as she stood in the hallway downstairs, asking for clarification as to what she needed to get. Now, you could call this lazy, but actually, by not engaging in a mutual bedroom-to-downstairs shouting conversation, she saved us both from the sort of abusive vocal behavior that can cause vocal cord nodules, and by not returning upstairs, she avoided the risk of potentially tripping over something and falling down the stairs and crippling herself. Good all round, I'd say, and that sort of ingenuity should be rewarded.

Better than shouting lol

No, they know i wouldn't respond.
if i keep the home organised and make meals the least i expect from them is to be at the table for 6.00pm when we have tea.
otherwise i have an sos household. stretch or starve. this rule applies to my kids, hubbie and their friends.

If you can not stop this then another option could be to get them mobile phones with WIFI so they can MSN you instead of TEXT you using the WIFI at least it would be free. :p.

Or get cheap (3 network) phones with free Windows MSN if the WIFI is not an option

you have spoiled your kids.

What surprises me is that lots of parents can be on-line all the time.

I wonder what their children are doing!

No mine havent done this but then the eldest is only 6 :) I will also put off her having a mobile as long as possible.
I thought I was lazy when I was a kid calling my friend who lived 5 doors away and being the phone for over an hour just chatting!
