Where going to mexico and Riu Cancun soon.
Wanted to know your feedback and also is it better to book activities before we get there?
Its for myself and my GF and we will both be 21.
She really wants to do the dolphins and I love scuba diving.

Also recommend some more activities and feel free to post pictures.

Not some sad Black Gerbal ones though :)

cancun in june/july, best place ever, how clean it is puts the whole uk to bloody shame :O. Watch out when swimming in the ocean as i did spot a shark coming in far to close but it only happended once the whole time. The sand is like caster sugar and sea like class shades of blue :D, though it was quite windy different days due to gettint near hurricane season but it was like living in a 200'c oven while i was there imense :P just put plenty of sun cream on and get a high factor as i suffered for a week. never tried any activities, i was either too **** or soaking a tan lol

Went to Porto Aventurous (sp) about 10 years ago (its about 15 miles south of Cancun)

Dolphin swimming is done at a marine park between were we stayed and Cancun (cant think of the name - but it was expensive to do that......... But the scuba dive there was superb. It was a drift dive. The misus was left on the boat...... and I resurfaced about a mile away from where I started. Cozumel is supposed to be the best for Scuba.

Cancun was OK. We stayed there for the second week. Unfortunatey, you cant climb the paramid at Chicken pizza anymore. not surprised.... it's really steep.

Over all, it is worth a visit.

I went to Cancun a couple of years back. Dolphin swim at Discovery Cove was really good, also did a snorkell trip while there. You have to take a boat over to Isla Mujeres to do the swim.

You should also make sure you take a trip to one of the Mayan sites while your there, either Chichin Itza or Tulum.

And a day trip to Xcaret, lots of local wildlife there and you can snorkel in an underground river and watch a traditional Mexican show.

We missed swimming with Whale Sharks when we were there, it was out of season, but I would have loved to have done that!

Hi and thank you all for your responces.
Would you say it is cheaper to purchase the activities now via Thompson or will it be cheaper when we get there?

went to cancun a couple of years ago through thomas cook and they went through all the activities with us at the hotel, we then booked through thomas cook for these,i think its better because they arranged transport there and back - we did the dolphins, snorkling, water park and speed boating

:) Hi, I've stayed at both Riu Cancun and Riu Palace Playacar.... I waited until I was out there to book the dolphin trip.. however you have the option of getting an organised trip - or going to a holiday (timeshare visit), we went on one of these for a couple of hours (me and my dad!) and received free trips, and a some other freebies. It was worth it and we told them we were'nt married, so got the freebies quick... a little advice, when out shopping or out of the hotel, wear long sleeves, or turn your wristband over, the travel tout guys, price the trips on which hotel you're staying at... enjoy ....:D
