I know it comes around once a year but a year is a long time.. Im not overly fussed about Christmas in all honesty, just enjoy the build up now I feel lost without it....

Anyone else?

I always find January to be boring dreary month and feel a bit sad when everything gets put away.

This year though my oldest boy turns 17,very excited as he started his first job last year (apprentice joiner) and will be having his first driving lesson in 3 weeks. Will be a great year for him hopefully :) he has been saving like mad for his first car :)

I'm very proud of him so feeling like this year is going to be good :)

I absolutely love Christmas but it's hard work!

I feel very down about it being over.

There doesn't feel like much to look forward to now for ages as I don't celebrate valentines and don't really do Easter other than buying the odd creme egg.

Mine and the OHs birthday are at the end of the year and we never really do anything for them.

The only thing that could make January seem less bleak is Sonisphere announcing their UK festival and then I will have something to get excited. Otherwise it's the same old over again until the build up for next Christmas!

Nope, Christmas is a time in the church calendar, it always amuses me, watching people prepare for a festival that will give them nothing and leave them feeling deflated......... Celebrating a Christian festival for your own pleasure with no faith or devotion is silly and should leave you feeling the way you are feeling....... It's still Christmas for me and I will be in church tomorrow singing carols and still enjoying Christmas :D

I'm glad all the insane consumerism over for another year, to be honest Christmas depresses me more than January. I'm already starting to see a bit of light on the horizon as I cycle to work, roll on the long summer days.

I sometimes wake up in the morning, and wonder whether it is actually worth chewing through the leather straps..

Is it not technically a pagan celebration hijacked by the church? But looking forward to 2015 after a great 2014 and hope everyone has a prosperous year

yep, always feel like such an anti-climax. especially the last 2-3 years spent in and out of hospital, I kept saying "this year, this year I will enjoy our traditions" but I've spent the run up to the big day either in agonising pain or on morphine clouds :/ And of course it means I miss the shopping trips, baking, putting the tree up, relatives visits, church services/activities and cemetery runs. By the time Christmas eve rolled around I didn't feel Christmassy:( and now its time for the tree to come down. Here's to this years Christmas I suppose...

Mine and my daughters birthday are on the 5th and 12th towards the end of the year so I always make sure our birthdays last a week :)

Seems only fair I say,had a baby on the 5th should celebrate until the 12th! Week long cake, gifts and celebrations :) we're the only girls in the house so think it's only right !

Husband doesn't agree mind (_;)

Not really, plenty to look forward to in the next few months and then after that the days will be getting longer, the trails drier etc.
