Where in Portsmouth, it's a big old city, different areas, some nice, some not.....

Or surrounding areas, Fareham, Portchester, etc.

see if any properties on Queens street, that is close, They have just built a load of newer flats on there too since we were last there. Gosport is just a 5 min ferry ride from the dockyard too would be worth looking at x

Old Portsmouth is nice, nearby too, you can get old type town houses, or newer stuff in Gunwharf.

Southsea is nice enough on the seafront, but it's a bit run down in some areas around the back, bed sits and student lets.

There is loads of Navy there obviously.........Gunwharf nice enough to go out in, don't really like the city centre that much. For shopping I'd prefer Fareham, Gunwharf has good outlets.

Don't move to Gospit.

We were lucky with Gosport, We heard so many bad stories before we moved there, but never ever had a problem, and i prefered gosport, plus fareham shopping to the city centre.

Gosport is a nightmare to get out of in traffic if you need to use the car, it's really badly run down, there are like 2 nice ish areas. The rest is a dive, and full of run dwon council estates, you'll see your car insurance double in most areas of Gospit, my sis made that mistake, getting a cheap house, and got a flat in Gunwharf. Gosport has been known as gospit ever since I was a kids for many, many reasons:thumbsup:

lol we did move away 5 years ago and only stayed there for 2 we were in married quarters so were looked after, but we found the DRs and nursery for baby were great, I have to say as soon as we moved to south wales i missed Gosport lol
I am english though so explains why I missed being in England rather than Wales :whistling:

Ahhh see now the quarters are a whole new game, you don't mix with the riff raff:whistling: I don't have anything against council estates don't get me wrong but Gosport is really run down and full of crime on it's estates, you could buy like a 3 bed for 30k there recently.....

Never had to use quarters down that way as we had a house there.

lol I always remember when we started to look for a mortgage, they wanted 60k for a 2 bed flat roofed bad run down house! This was when the house prices had shot up, Thats how we ended up in SW as more house for your money here.

OP hope you find somewhere good to live Queens street on the way to the gunwarf did look tonnes better than when we left, Lovely new studio flats.
