never been to this show before, theres a lot of other events held at the same venue, sunday will be the busiest day and I believe thats £18 on the gate.

Always a thoroughly good day out those, plenty of boys toys and eye candy and its worth it even if you wanna go laugh at the chavs with their 1.2 corsa "tearin" it up down the drag strip.

Please don't make me cry and tell me it's 100's of miles away from London?
Where's it going to be held?

I don't know anything about cars but would do anything for my dad, so I'm going to see if he's up for it. :)

I just checked the distance and it's apparantly 67 miles away from me....I just came from up North FFS and now I have to go back. :giggle:

Mapquest seems to think it's about hour and half away from me....how do you know where I live my fellow Disney Club member or have you been stalking me as well?

Why are you suggesting that....oh god....please tell me you won't be performing on the poles...advertising yourself is one thing but you're not supposed to do that in the literal sense mate of exposing yourself. :giggle:
#17
lol I dont drink these days, but if it was a couple of years ago then i'd have probably done a performance after a few too many

That's it....rub it in.

I was gonna go and thought it would of been an excellent day but my dad caught a cold the day before and now I've got it too...so we missed out. :-(

Tell me everything that happened...cos I know you want to and by the way...I didn't know you had model cars winning competitions :giggle:

well pretty chocca! plenty of v nice cars, new and old alike, which you'll see when I upload the piccies the restored mustang had to be my fave.

I must admit I prefer the Jap show, i'm a big fan of custom paint jobs and there wasnt nearly as many cars like that as there should have been.

As ever, the fire force jet car was awesome, arrived just in time to see the first run, I took little one under the main grandstand right near the starting line thought it was gonna scare the life out of her but had her ears covered while filming, but I got a better video off the embankment for the 2nd run, shot past doing the 1/4 mile in 6.2 seconds reaching 257mph as it crossed the line.

The girls had fun, for the 3 we took it was there first car show and they couldnt believe the amount of attention the got, but they all entered the competition 2 of the 3 made it to the final and Tina (one of those comming on holiday with us in June) ended up winning. £100, a nice shiney outdated trophy (it said Miss Fast Show 2008  ) as well as a lot of interest from the people at Nuts, Loaded and Fast Car magazine.

We even got Nik in a Nuts T-Shirt for some piccies towards the end too.

Sounds excellent mate, it looks like it was perfect free advertising for you and your girls.

Do you know if the show will be on again any time soon...I really want to take my dad to check it out, as he's mad about classic cars as well as some of the modern stuff?

Where are you in the pics...is that you standing next to the car....cos if you are, you should never stand behind one when you're suffering with stunted growth. :giggle:

Great pics of the cars but which girl was voted Miss Fast Show 1998? lol
No offence but it looks like you spend a lot of time airbrushing them afterwards. :whistling:
#29
models wont let any pics go out un-airbrushed, some of them are a bit OTT i agree, but they're not for sale, just for their use and thats how they wanted them. Personally I wouldnt have gone so far

they're all my images, I dont touch Niks, so I'm behind the camera on all these.

bleieve it or not Miss Fast Show is the one holding the trophy (the one with the very blue lips )

So those pics have already been airbrushed?.....maybe I should consider a modelling career too. :giggle:

I should of known who the winner was......the trophy is a dead give away but I think that proves how little time I spent checking the pics lol...I should of known you were behind the camera as well....nearly every pic is very low down...which means either you were crouching or it was taken by a midget. :giggle:

Just playing, nice pics mate, how's work coming along...do you feel you received a lot of coverage and which shows are you looking to do in the future? :)
#31
we got awesome coverage, and got to network with the people in the game who can open bigger doors (ones I usually couldnt reach the handles for ) got a lot of flyers out and met a few people who'd like to hire not only the models for future events but also us, for their photography, in all a pretty good day.

for reference, i always prefer low angles when taking pics of cars try to fill as much of the image as possible.

That's fantastic mate and with those car pics as reference, I think it'll help you out quite a bit, as they're great pics of the cars. :)
I'm glad you can reach the doors now that someone is willing to give you a lift :-)

Did you manage to take pics of some classic cars and bikes, as my Dad would love to see some of those? :)
#33
Unfortunaly no, there were no bikes there this time Nik got the majority of the pics because I had Jess, so my t'ography oppotunities were limited, it was easier to holder the video camera so I got more video footage than stills.

Ohhhh.....I'd love to see video footage...do you have any you can showcase? :)

Are they all low down from ants view too? lol
Just playing mate, the angled car shots are great. :)
#35
I'm gonna stick it on youtube later, basically there a bit of drifting etc, and a HD version of this but from my position on the embankment, unfortunalty you still dont get an idea of the speed or the noise from any video, you have to see it to believe it.
