Anyone got a PC linked up to their 42" LCD? Need some help, please!

Afternoon all.

I have had already had to ask for help twice with linking my PC to my 42" Samsung TV and now I have managed to get it on HDMI I am stuck again LOL!

I can't get the display to fit nicely on the screen.

I have tried playing with the screen resolution and have set it to widescreen in Windows Media Centre. I have also tried changing my TV size settings.

So PLEASE can anyone advise what settings they have or if anyone knows anything else I can try?

Thank you!!!!!!

right is your tv 720p or 1080p?
720p resolution = 1360x768
1080p resolution = 1920x1080
these resolution are what ive found to be the norm, however you should check the tv manual for what its native resolution is.

Also depends on how your graphics card see them and the settings you can change.

i've got my pc hooked up to my 42" LCD using a DVI cable with an HDMI converter on the end at the tv, screen resolution set to 1360 x 768 pixels (tv is 1080p but i prefer this size for the pc) tv image set to wide screen.

when i had mine hooked up i had it set to 1360x768 via dvi to hdmi lead. it was that easy on mine, however on my 32" i use to have a few problems.

Look for the overscan/underscan settings in both your TV menus and graphics card control panel.

set it to 1920*1080 and adjust the text/icon size etc in windows to be larger ;)

Thanks guys for replying.
The computer is an Advent QC-6003 and the box says:
Graphics: Onboard INTEL GMA X4500HD
Didn't know I could change anything on the graphics card, will have a go later

Will try the settings again later, I am not sure what native resolution my tv is and the manual is in the loft.

It's PS-42Q97HD and according to Google my resolutions is 1280x720 at 50 hertz - managed to find that option in the Windows media centre and it seems all good now :-D

Thank you!!!

P.S. If anyone has any other tips for me...
