Anyone had a faulty iphone with tesco mobile?

I got an iphone a few weeks back with tesco mobile on contract. I asked when i rang up to order what the return policy was if the item is faulty, they told me i could send it back to them at any time within the 12 month warranty. But i live at least an hours drive from the nearest apple store so it would be a massive inconvenience to return it to apple! Just been on the phone to them earlier about something else and i asked the same question at the end of the conversation and was told they don't do repairs and i would have to return it to apple if the phones faulty. Now the phones not faulty so i shouldn't be tempting fate but i just wanted to know if i do have problems will i have to return it to apple? Has anyone been in this position? I had suspicions they would lie to get me signed up and back track if i did need any repairs. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

You bought it from Tesco, not Apple, so should be taking it back to them for replacement/refund.

who did you call up? the main tesco helpline number? or the tesco mobile helpline number?

the tesco mobile number, theres an option to select iphone contract department, which said earlier i would have to return the phone if faulty to the nearest apple store.

I bought an iphone from Tesco last month and after waiting for a week for customer service to get back to me I got in touch with Apple and the next day they sent me a box to send my iphone back to them and I got a new replacement 3 days later. Very good customer service from Apple just a shame I can't say the same for Tesco.
