a new house for 53k??!?!? the credid crunch has hit hard!!
#2
it depends on interest rate, amount of loan you take (mortgage) then how long the mortgage is for ........
#3
i would imagine theyre only 2 bedrooms but still! a bargain. im saving for a car at the moment and will still need to take a loan out to pay for it, but this is so tempting
#4
I would say around £300-£350 ISH.

id be taking 2 and knocking them together!!!

theres an ex council house in our village for 125k!! practically no garden and from what i hear on the grape vine they are flocking too it!!
#10
Not joint ownership or something is it? Loads this way (newcastle) that advertise like that on the boards outside of buliding sites. Then you read the small print.
#11
i hope i can still get a house for around this price in a couple years time. affording the repayments will be difficult for me, especially as im single so only have one salary coming in

#16

*Faints*

A 2 bed house for £53k? Couldn't buy anything, except maybe a park home for that around here!!
I would ship my son straight out to buy one, he has zero chance of getting onto the property ladder.

Can't even get a 1bedroom flat for that much here.

I think they would still require you to have some deposit though.

The mortgage repayments probably less than the rent your paying now.
#21

nah its not on there, but thanks and rep for that! maybe i will be able to get on the property ladder one day :-D

well.. in your favour..

you're a first time buyer...

you carry with you no chain...

you simply need to save up a sizeable deposit ( maybe 20% )

if you cant afford to buy save up a couple of thousand to rent privately, to pay deposit and first months rent x x

Oh well I would stay put then, more cushty for moment, try save a bit for a bit of a deposit.

It's not really hit things too bad here the housing price crash, they still overpriced really, but thats South East prices,it's to be expected.
I think it going be a while before things pick up again anyway.
#25
I wanted to settle in the South East but too expenisve as opposed to the North
#26
well at the minute im saving for a car, and will also need a loan too. but once thats out the way, maybe 2 or 3 years, then i'll be ready to look into the housing market. just wish i could afford to do it now

Yeh it way dearer but some towns are cheaper, like where I live some of the houses are 40-50% cheaper than say the next town on. These places that are cheap are not great to live.

Yep cos they would ask about any outstanding money owed and it might go against what they could lend you.
In 2-3 years time, who knows you migth be settlling down with someone, then can share the expense with them lol.

The North East isn't that bad!

I remember when I bought my 1st house almost 7 years ago for 26k and it was pretty decent!

Houses round here may be cheap but some aren't too bad :)
