Do you live on your own?
Do you know someone who lives on their own?

Could you factor in all costs, per year, for living on your own?

This is what i have at the moment : (Per Year)

Rent = £3600
Mobile = £260
Phone Line = £135
Broadband = £60

Gas = ?
Electric = ?
Water = ?

What not to include:

Food
Council Tax
Petrol
Car Insurance
MOT
Car Maintenance
TV Licence
Personal Spend
House goods

Rough estimates will be fine

Good thing is that he won't have to worry about gas, water or electric in his mudshack/Welsh council estate.

You also need to factor in t.v licence, water rates, food, a budget for clothes, gas and electric will depend on useage and if you pay by direct debit or prepayment meter, I live on my own but its all about shopping round trying to find the cheapest way to do things. Hope this helps

My dads other house was rubbish and people paid £800 a month for that, the ones on that site must be really dire.

no disrespect but -

get out more. go see the country
go check out the houses

ive seen a few - theyre like everyother house/apartment.

but if it makes you feel any better - theyre dire.

also, the site hosts houses from independant agencies in the area.

enough about the rent and whether its real blah blah - let get down to number crunching.
#37
I wish my rent was that cheap - mine is almost £9k a year alone! Was paying it on my own until fairly recently, reason enough to get off my **** and find a new girlfriend :thumbsup: It can definitely be done, helped having most bills go out not long after payday so I knew what I had to play with each month.

No idea what the rental market is like oop north, the best property I rented was near Carmarthen and that was a fraction of what I pay now.
#38
i would check out uswitch for your bills but it would prob work out cheaper for you if you have a water meter fitted which they do for free
council tax will depend on the area and think flats tend to be lower band than houses plus u should get discount for living alone
food will depend on what you eat really, that can be anything from about £40 a week if you careful to £150 if you live on takeaways or expensive foods. just a matter of getting the best price for the food you buying.

corinne
p.s a 3 bed council house costs less than £300 a month in some areas
