I presume it is along the lines of analysing inventory within a business.

Peaks and troughs in demand for the items a business sells
Replenishmnet lead times for items sourced from UK and overseas (order, manufacture and shipping times combined)
Analysing and Improving inventory turns (length of time the product sits on the shelf before shipping to customer)
Looking at slow moving items, reducing unecessary inventory
Kanban items (always need to be available)
Improving item cost from supplier

That would be my understanding but may be more detailed, surely there is a job spec?

Or it could be a Services based one. Which is more than likely if its IT-Based.

Like can we develop this inhouse or sub-contract?

Do we bring in contractors? If so, who, why? When? Cost? What-Ifs? Cost-Benefits? Alternative Analysis.

Reviewing different bids and proposals

Analyzing best candidate

Managing partnerships

etc etc.

Will consist of phone, emails, meetings, faxs absolutely anything to be honest.

recruiters sometimes play the numbers game, the more people they put forward the better chance they have of filling the vacancy. Lets face it, they dont care who gets the job as long as they fill the position.

They may think you have some of the experience the employer is looking for. be good for experience even if you dont get it. I would look at the job spec before you discount it.

The job I do now was completely new to me whan I started 3 years ago, I got this through an agency.

the thing is, the job spec is for a request analyst and support IT.
this is the one i applied for
she rang me and said (after looking at my cv) that she thinks id be better suited in procurement analyst

i dont know the going rate for this job role.
i dont know what the job spec is
she rang me to say she'll call me and hasnt

but as soon as i get more info ill get back to ya and tell you what the role entails.
