I drive a 53 plate silver focus zetec.
I reversed it into a bollard when trying to park it near the library a couple of months ago. Didn't mark it though.

I think that's about the only thing I've done to it... ;-)

I drive a Ferrari, but in this country I keep it under wraps, for the rest of the time I drive a Focus ;-)

Only mod on that is a solar reflect windscreen 8) and a broken wing mirror

Got a 52 reg Vectra TDI (or dTI) as Vauxhall call it.
Nice quickish car, very smooth and comfortable thou which is bad news for motorway driving, the amount of times my mates have just knocked out in the car and some close calls i've had too.
Bit too big for my liking but i dont care i got it for free as an ex company car of my dad! Insurance is a bummer, very good on the diesel.
Apart from a sound system inside nothing else, i dont really wanna do much to it, got some nice standard alloys, hate having tinted windows and if i lower it anymore i'll damage the car as i drive over road bumps everyday.

Why are your friends knocking one out in your car?!

I'd have a major hernia if my mate did that :-(

Would it get exciting if I asked which cleaning products to use on the steering wheel?!

You have some very interesting mates lol
#13
Sounds like you do, not me!

We're still young, unmarried, no commitments, etc etc. Our nights out are 'interesting' lol but NOT ILLEGAL

I've never found an air freshener I like the smell of. I user Febreze once I've hoovered it.

Take one old Astra CD with a blown engine and stick all the bits you can from a GSI on it, plant a 2ltr red top engine and management system in it then tell the insurance company you need to insure it ;-)

Do all the work yerself mate? What did the insurance company say...the typical 'we dont have one of those on our system sir'...
#19
I did all in that driveway, including 2 engine changes. The only part I didnt do was the spray work, but I did fit the panels.

The insuraance company said no problem sir, no extra charge as your such a good risk being 94 next birthday ;-)

93? Use your free bus pass to get about.

I disagree my "man" cant clean a car properly for toffee....I am the only one who actually cleans the glass well enough to see through it!

Im mostly driving a Peugeot 406 3L V6 at the mo..we have 2 one in red and a new exec model in silver...

We also are de-modding the 206 to part exchange on a multi person vehicle...

I love cars and was until recently converting a nissan micra K10 into a rally car LOL

Ahhh, me drives a bigger V6 than you :p

Ner ner ner ner.

Are they the coupe versions?
#23
Nah its the older saloon versions...not so keen on the coupe...
I love the old skool cars unfortunatly, the boxier and squarer the better for me!

my car (yaris, cheap + reliable!) is perfectly clean, from the right hand side anyway. -- some of the more adventurous country driving seems to continuosly cake the left hand side in mud :)

It's only a matter of practice. The more often he does it the better he will get. My husband claimed he couldn't iron... so I let him do mine and the kids' for a while until he got the hang of it.
#26
Your husband needs to learn the art of doing it wrong, continually. A nice burtn patch in one of your favourite items of clothes should have done the trick!
#27
Kimbo, nothing like a V6 engine singing away though is there. Shame that you can watch the fuel gauge move though!
#28
Yes definatly!!

Usually use the V6 for long journeys and the 206 for drop-offs and qwik runs...
But having to use the 406 all journeys and the difference in petrol costs is considerable!

Now looking for a MPV that holds up to 7/8 but not huge and petrol guzzling...
Fallen in love with the new Kia Carens...loads of inside space but a midi size...
Shame it new and not likely to find any 2nd-handers out there yet...

Id love an old skyline too....but kids would have to stay at home

Women see a car as independence and a tool
Men see a car as something to get thrills from
hence: 96% of accidents are caused by men

Where you getting your statistics from?!

Kim, I decided to keep my Diesel as it does 56mpg, and the 3.2 V6 does, erm, about 21mpg, 24 on a good day!

However, never use the diesel! Every time, have to get in the V6. Such a hoot!

Anyone into cars?

Yes, full on payed up petrolhead here. This is the 1st non car forum I post on (6 others are car related  )
Saabs are my chosen chariot. I have a 2.2 tdi 9-3 that I have had remapped to around 150bhp, pretty hot for a tractor!!
Other bits and bobs done to chassis and brakes too, but I can see some readers glazing over as I type :-D

Ive been around Goodwood, Rockingham, Bruntingthorpe, Elvington and Castle Coombe in various tuned Saabs, great fun!http://www.saabphotos.com/gallery/albums/Veggie/TD2.jpg

Spend all my time looking at cars right now...

Sold a good old Skoda Octavia GLX Tdi as I wanted something a bit newer and better spec, thought best to get rid of it before it came up for the service and MOT. Typically after costing me 300 quid last year, it went through its service and MOT this year flawlessly!

Had a look at a Skoda Superb Elegance TDI - people think it's a strange choice for a 26 year old but you get so much for the money, seemed a great spacious cruiser.

kimbo_frog - nice tidy ride there, 406's are oldish now but a good style for their age so pretty nice, how come you don't like the coupe version tho, its designed by the lead designer for Ferrari's! :)

Johnmd7 - Skoda's are just rebadged VW's nowadays, altho I would consider a Hyunai too as they are serious good value for money as the name puts people off sadly.

My car is below, clicky clicky :)

Fixngrout. I like the look of the Saab's, especially the newer 9-3, but I have to say, don't you find the interior a little boring? It's the interior which stopped me looking at them more seriously.

You can't go far wrong if your not after hot hatch or performance looks with a Superb. Get loads for your money. I'm well into the VW scene, the Superb is basically a rebadged Passat, with extras.

Glad I can talk to some people about it. This is about the only non car forum I visit also, but thought I would try and make it into one :p

My current ride, but umm'ing and arr'ing even though I love it is below. Drinks like 15 fish!

Hopefully going to take it to Germany and around the Nuremburg (sp) with a few others, should be fun, unless i write it off!!! :-D

Ooooo, who wants a race :) Got some nice cars here, with bits and bob's done to them.

I did look at a Saab 9-3 but the interior put me off, I think it's the ones on a 52 plate and up I like the shape of. This is actually really good as the forums you visit are normally about the same cars, not a variety!

my flatmate and I have talked about 'the ring' in Germany several times, he as an MG ZR 120bhp and my Celica 190bhp should have some fun, but I also don't like the idea of killing the cars and ourselves! VERY dangerous and tricky circuit...
#38
Tell me about it, plus you have to pay per metre of wall or barrier you wreck! I wouldn't be crying about the barrier, I'd be crying about my car. But, I spose, you just take it easy, not out there to beat any records on your first time round the circuit. Just enjoy the straights!!

hmm, but i'd still be pretty worried at killing my sexy beast!! altho to be fair I do do 150mph on the way to work most days as I'm usually late....lol

And you still have a licence?! Well done!
