anyone know a good electric guitar tuner they can recommend?

just got my son an electric guitar but it needs tuning. I believe there is a device that you can put on your guitar that tells you when each string is in tune. Are there any electric guitar players who can recommend a good but reasonable value one. As i am tone deaf i dont mind paying a little bit more for one that will do a proper job rather than a very cheap one.
Thanks in advance

I use one of these http://www.jakesguitars.com/qwik-tune-automatic-guitar-tuner-323-p.asp Does what it says on the tin, you don't need to spend a fortune IMO.

Not sure what you mean here, If you are tuning a electric its got a jack plug to plug into, if its a acoustic just sit it on your lap.

Can't go wrong with a Korg CA-30 (or it's replacemnt the Korg CA-1) which retail for around a tenner or less on ebay.

CA-30

CA-1
http://www.korg.com/Product.aspx?pd=560

They are very popular and I have found mine very easy to use.

Hi i saw a pic a few months of what i thought was a tuner and it looked like a small box that was sat over the top of the strings near the top of the neck. Maybe that was something completely different....
