Used to have a horrible reputation for hard sell years ago but not sure what they are like now.

I believe the vacuums are really good, just V expensive.

your going to have to do some hard selling I would assume and would I pay a mint for a kirby.. well no as its a lot of cash, who do you think has that sort of money at the moment and if you did a straw poll on here of who has a kirby don't think there would be many henry`s or dysons have stitched up the market

I've witnessed one of the hard sell demos and it was pressure sales of the highest order. Personally I'd never let one of them into my house and, unless desperate for a job, would question why anybody would want to do it as a career.
#10
Kirby LOL, if you don't mind ripping off OAP's
#11
Do you really want to be forced to go into old and vulnerable peoples' houses and sit there for hours trying to con them into paying a ridiculous amount for a hoover? So what if you get a salary... if you don't hit your undoubtedly high targets, they'll sack you for under performing anyway. Stay away!
If you're good at sales, there are much better ways, as well as a better salary!

Yeah mate, they also say you can earn £30k+ as a Driving Instructor - with the undisclosed caveat you pull 60 hours a week.

OP I would seriously reconsider..................

My dad 'HAD' a friend who used to sell Kirbys and asked if he could give a demo as he would get paid for getting in the house, my dad agreed as a favour...Suffice to say after 4 hours hard sell he was a friend no more...Be warned.

I'm seeing stuff on the net about it being a scam etc

And yes it's confirmed that the target age group is 50-60 yr olds

Apparently what they say is you will earn base rate £1400 in 30 days by doing 60 demos yes 60 quite a lot 2/3 denies a day each lasting 90mins upto ,

What I read online and a YouTube video is you are workin on your own and earn commission for each sale £300 hmmmm okkkayyyy.....

When it comes to signing the 60 demo contract you dint actually get £1400 it's what you make from sale could more than likely be nothing

So currently it's 3 day training

Day 2 tomorrow

Monday is contract day which I will decide if I will do it depending on weather said amount is real.

But a few folk in my area are saying kirby are a scam and there's stuff on the net which confirms that one way or another,

iPhone misworded that last post

Kirby really is a mixed view mostly bad things

Probably avoid depending on Mondays outcome

Didn't even wait till monday left on the 3rd day of training, asked about my area about them not one positive thing to say about them at all,

even comments on here confirmed it, i knew it was a bit dodgy after the 2nd interview

YES AVOID KIRBY

Lol well at least you tried !! I remember years ago one of them undercover documentaries about hard sell - and am pretty sure this company was exposed for that!

What was the 'training' like!

We had a kirby AGES ago - does that mean my mum gave into the hard sell?

It must have been 10-15 years old, great hoover BTW.

Found this

You really are better off away from all of that hard sell OTT stuff
#21
I did this for a few months many years ago.

I can't say I'd fancy it again but if you've got nothing else lined up it could be good experience?

It does. It was probably what came out of your mattress on the demo that did it :p
