I managed to kinda almost scrap off a large mole I have yesterday. It hurts like crazy now and has been bleeding all day, it's sort of hanging off at the bottom and it hurts to lift my arm or stretch out and I struggled to sleep last night if I laid on that side and I can't wear a bra cos of it

Will it just heal itself or do I need it to be looked at?

I have tried googling but its just comes up with cancerous moles which certainly is not.

hello babe, give nhs direct a ring i did the same about three years back and it did not heal on my lower arm - they will probably just remove it for you - give them a ring anyway to put your mind at rest and let me know how you get on love julie

I've done this loads of times and they have never turned into anything "nasty". The only problem is that if you rip the top off they sometimes grow a bit taller and then get in the way all the more. If it is in a place that catches on clothes you could have it removed for free on the NHS, I have never been bothered as it does scar a bit but it depends on the individual.

Thank you, I should have got it looked at today at work but kept ignoring it hoping it would stop hurting. Will let you know

It is right under my breast exactly where the bottom of my bra sits. I do scar quite badly but it would be hidden so not really a problem. It's the pain that is getting to me

Ouch. Ive got one in exactly the same place. Thinking of going to the doc and getting it removed but it seems like so much hassle. I think your best bet is as has already been said, ring nhs direct and get professional advice. Good luck x

Surely just go the hospital. Can't go the doctors now so your cocern is warranted.

Grew back? Ive had 3 removed and none grew back, I'm guessing they didnt get all the root then?

FH if in any doubt get it checked out it shouldn't have been that easily caught and ripped hun, I am always overly cautious with moles as they seem to be a problem in our family as several members have had them removed due to turning cancerous, I know mine all by sight shape and feel now.

Yeah I wouldn't want to be an unecessary drain on the NHS, just want it it to stop hurting - even the wine isn't working

I spent far too many nights in A&E and its not really an emergency. I just wasn't sure whether to leave it or seek medical advice when the docs open on Monday

i have had five removed and none have ever grown back! the big one that was removed at the top of my back just never goes brown when i have been in the sun just stays white but no pain or growths - glad i had them all done as two on my neck were horrible and kept catching them! doctors dont mind removing big or problem moles which are easy to catch on something even though some are cosmetic i think its less hassle for them in the long-term! and for the owner of them! and having them removed does not hurt at all - i was really worried but most of the time they just quarterize them

It's quite a big one though, the best way to describe it is like around 10 coco pops chewed for a min and spat out. Sounds horrible but I can't think of anything else to compare it. It was caught with a mixture of underwire bra and big hugs. I am quite dark naturally and have a lot of them but that is the only real raised one

Hope its dry today, it might need a loose plaster over it as its the air that stings it most.
