ive been under the bonnet 20 minutes and cant find it

normally vin numbers are at the bottom of the windscreen under the bonnet arent they? not sure which side though

I have honestly looked everywhere :? cant understand it, I though they were in plain view

Passenger side corner under the wiper blade, along with the number of airbags fitted. Well they are normally:thumbsup:

there is a number there, is that the vin number? I was told to look for an aluminum plate, its the engine code I need

Well that's the VIN, if you ring a main dealer they should be able to give you the info, assuming it has it's original engine :)

yes its the original conked out engine, need the code apparently to match up for getting another engine :? I will give the dealers a ring, thats logical, dont know why I didnt think of that :oops: doh

so apparently the engine code is on the engine :giggle: will have to go look tomorrow when its light again and note to self, get a blinking torch :-D

Bit late but got this from autotrader's used car buying checklist;

"Locate the VIN – check the inner door panel, the base of the windscreen, in the boot or the floor beside the front driver or passenger seat"

hiya,,the engine code not be on the vin plate,,,,it will be in the engine bay on a smaller plate(dont know where on a clio tho)

look on your log book - the vin number is there and if the numbers you are looking at tally up then you know you've found it

its the engine code I need to find, I now know its not on the vin plate thanks tho :thumbsup:
