spring is FINALLY here and ive noticed over the last few days my decking and wooden fences are covered in huge black fast junping spiders, ive been out and washed them away but they just keep coming back, and i HATE spiders!
they seem to be coming up through the decking and have free run of all of my outside areas, them and wood lice YUCK! YUCK AND MORE YUCK!
how can i get rid of them without ruining the wood out there?
have to get rid soon cos my son wants to go out to play and hes worse then i am with them, at least i will stand on them he wont he freezes to the spot and screams

Deathlaq ( from Wilkinson's ) is the ideal product to get rid of spiders & bugs inside the house. For outside if you really don't like them just tread on them like you said. At least it will be a quick kill.

I wish my kids hated them, they bring them in the kitchen in a 'look how big this one is Mummy' competition. If they're in the garden, the spiders, let them be!! Or like WTP said, get a chicken. Mine go mental for them. And ants too.

You may find it's just the warmer weather that's brought them out, like flying ants that all appear at the same time and then go just as quickly. Perhaps they'll diasappear in a day or so.

a can of petrol and a match

oh noes, bad times i HATE spiders too :(

only downside of the warmer weather is those little bleeders come out

Get a house without a garden. Your welcome.

^^^^^^^^^^^ Ant powder will only work on spiders suffering with an identity crisis.

take a pee on the patio
get your son and anyone else to join in
leave then rinse after two days
sorted

(we used to pee on each other in the amazon when we had no tent to sleep in at one time as the pack was lost and the stench kept insects at bay)

I saw something in a shop today called No More Spiders,it was about £2.50 and it was in a bottle,so something your spray down or something. Was with all the plants and ant killer gardening type stuff in here.

If you have built decking you have been extremely kind to the spider population in your garden and built them a nature reserve. This warm dry undisturbed area is paradise for them. Well done, as spiders are generally our friends and keep down the population of flying insects that are a nuisance in the summer months.

I would suggest you get to know your spiders and make friends with them. They are very useful helpers in the garden and around the house

don't think the site sells small items,so if you don't have a shop by you,i know not many them about, but try poundland and B&Q, Homebase for similar product.

Get rid of the garden is probably the easiest option X)

I know I shouldn't hate them as they do kill the annoying insects that spawn in their thousands during the summer. However, when you wake up in the middle of night at the age of 12 with a huge house spider on your face; hate is the first thing that comes into my mind. If I wasn't so scared of them Id just throw them out but they make me freeze (sad I know :P)

Have you had any luck?? I have the exact same problem in my garden and decking. I used the 'no more spider' today, its a harmless mix of cedar oil that deters but does not harm them. But I swear if they don't go and live somewhere else i will have to pull the decking up and chase them out!!!! They have took over my garden and when they were crawling over my 1 year old son we just had to go inside. If you find a soulution please let me know :)

nope nothing ive bought works so far, infact i swear ive got more!, the only thing that worked for a few days was the pressure washer but you cant keep using that on decking

Just let them out. They won't harm them. The majority of spiders in the UK cannot pierce through human skin. Spiders will avoid you as much as you avoid them.
