Dont wanna ask a stupid question but why dont u just get a quote online? Insurance is different for everyone...
#2

#3

For that price you can get some seriously nice motors!! But from past experience 3.2l will murder you (if you can get insured at all!!) in insurance at that age...it gets a bit cheaper after 25yrs old.

If you like them then fair play, but considering you age, no claims and the engine size i'd guess you'd get crippled with insurance and tax.

Rank. Insurance might sting too - be surprised if you got any change out of 1k. +/- depending on miles on policy, your postcode etc etc.

For that money perhaps consider a Mazda RX8? Or get a hairdressers car like me...
#11
lol! I am a bloke and at 20 bought a Mazda MX5...I got ribbed for weeks about being a camp hairdresser but I loved it!! one of the best cars i have ever bought and great on insurance/fuel/tax etc for a 1.8!! Nippy too!
#12
Insurance is only the start - it's the bills that rack up keeping these cars on the road as they get older and pile on the miles!

ok what is your idea of crippling goonie? coz £1k to me isnt crippling...my first insurance price was £1800

I pay £380 and that's too much for me! :p

I didn't say £1k?
#14
£1k isnt crippling?
and a 7k car for your birthday!
i got a £500 ford fiesta and had to put half the money to it!

I think Goonies a bit out...It'll be MUCH dearer than 1k methinks!!

I don't know - I was insured on a group 18 car for £450 at 24 with 4 years NCB a few years back. It's not your typical reckless motor either so 1k is feasible.

To summarise. no, no-one know how much. Get yourself on a price comparison website and find out!

(I know it's a misprice but try and get him to honour it!) :-D

anyway there's loads to choose from here
#24
For your price of £7000 you could easily pick up a very nice Audi TT but i would definately stay away from the Crossfire, They dont hold their value very well, 3.2 litre engine will cripple you financially.
I have an RX8 and absolutely love it, but its very thirsty on petrol, its a real beauty to drive normally but these past weeks i can tell you its not easy in the snow (RWD) , cant comment on insurance as there are too many factors...
#25
Porsche Boxster 2.5. 7K should get you a 1999 plate, it's one insurance group lower and will hold it's value much better. Put a private plate on and nobody will have an idea how old it is. If speed is you thing then Mazda's 6MPS is just about getting in to your budget.

I know there are plenty at that price (I was looking for one myself not so long ago!) but they'll be very early models n left hand drives...

We have a winner!! I dont wanna say I told ya so but I told....!

P.S. at 3 1/2 years NCB, you should get the protector as well...
suspended#30
A Chrysler Crossfire 3.2 V6? I wouldn't be surprised if the insurance is more than half the price of the car.

i would have thought a 3L + car for a 21 year old would set off alarm bells on the insurance system No claims bonus or not.

When I was 21 with a couple of years no claim the insurance on my 1L 106 was £1200 a year!

Dont.

Just dont.

They are TERRIBLE cars. £7-9k buys some very nice, far better cars than that piece of carp.

MX-5 - Autocar's best drivers car a couple of years back

Late series 1 Lotus Elise, maybe even an early series 2.

Audi TT's probably arent far off that kind of cash

You could even get a TVR for that money - 0-6 in 3.9 seconds and 180+ mph! The insurance will be another £9k though...............

[SIZE="6"]BLACK GERBIL UP IN THIS

lmao, please dont buy that care, I know anything is an upgrade from your Daweeoo, but dont get that, its a cheap mans Aston Martin.

get a bmw 6 series if you can afford it mine was 66k RPP, but I might be able to get you one cheaper if you want brah, wont be a 09 model tho.

Lol dcx and dimebars!

I'm looking more at an astra or Honda civic type r now, not really looking for a 2 seater, the crossfire was just an old pipedream

Civic Type-R's eat front tyres - you will be lucky to get more than 6k per set

An astra is the ultimate boring mans car - you wont get a VXR for that price so will be stuck with an SRi

Look at an older Audi S3, or a Gold GTi / R32

And ignore the rodent above

I'll have a look on autotrader at lunch cheers, was thinking a black astra with a personalised plate would look quite good tho....the insurance is the biggest problem really, even with 4 years no claims, being a 20 year old male student doesn't help

No individuality in a black astra

Try something like a Seat Leon FR or Cupra, or even a Skoda Fabia vRS (yes you heard me correctly)
