That's not the same trick.

If you check the other videos it seems it's not any kind of trick bottle but something added the water to increase the surface tension. He has a bonus video where he makes the water go though some kind of reaction to turn to ice.

i remember kids doing this at primary school...hardly an illusion is it?



That would have been with a bottle just being upside down and is to do with air pressure and surface tension.
You wouldn't be able to tip the bottle over gently like in the video, and you wouldn't have been able to push a toothpick inside it.
This is pretty clever but definately not what you saw at school.
