Anyone know how to totally remove Office 2007 ?

My lad bought the student version of Office yesterday. Installed it last night, no problem.

This morning its coming up with 'This copy of office is not genuine' !

Tried uninstalling and reinstalling, same message.

Called MS support and has someone check the system remotely and then run a batch file to remove office. I've now reinstalled it again and it's coming back with not only the same error but now install errors as well, so a great step forward there.

I can only think it's corrupt reg entries, but can't find a way to completely remove it.

Anyone have any links/faq whatever to get rid of it and start from scratch ??

That was the only thing that worked for me, pity it was the last thing I tried.

Thank's for the idea's guys

I've tried both progs (the MS link is the prog that started the problem, so I've left that alone)..

I've run each on its own and one after the other (reinstalled office 3 times, with a restarted between) and I'm STILL being told that 'This copy of office is not genuine'.

MS have told me that the CD key is legit so I have no idea where to go from here? MS support was supposed to call me back at 5:30 I am in the least surprised that they didn't.

I can see why people don't buy the software if this happens !

Right-click on My Computer and choose Manage
•Expand “Services and Applications", then select Services
•In the right pane, stop the Office Source Engine service if it is running

clean the registry as above

Thats what I've done.

backed everyting up, reformat, reinstall windows, put everything back after installing office first (which now works).
Only taken sice half eight this morning !

Last piece of MS software I buy. ..

maybe you cocked up the uninstall. Best way to do it is to insert original disk and then use the Uninstall option once it loads. I wouldn't use 'add/remove programs' utility to do it.

You messed it up, I always just uninstall office using add remove programs and its worked everytime with 2003/2007/2010.

yeah, something got messed up somewhere. never had any problems with uninstalling/reinstalling office on many many occassions over many versions.

Clean install of a digital download from Digital River on a new laptop that's never had office installed on it before.

The only installation to is to click on the file and enter the key...

I have a feeling something corrupted when the system shut down that night. It loaded a stack of MS updates and one was something called something like 'genuine advantage checker' which is the element of office that kept saying it wasn't genuine !
Any way it's all working now. . .
