Google search brings up so many so-called discount ferry ticket-sellers that I'm confused!

Need to buy 1 x adult and 2 x child foot passenger tickets from Larne - Cairnryan for this coming Monday or Tuesday. Could also go Larne - Stranraer, but only if it is a good bit cheaper because the car is in Cairnryan port car park so would still need to get a taxi to collect it!

Thanks for any help from anyone in the know - maybe allstar2, emma or another one of our Norn Iron members...?

Thanks - yes, I think it is P&O, but I've also found a couple of comparison sites - e.g. http://www.cheap4ferries.com that offer 6% cashback thru Quidco. But £48 for 1 adult and 2 small kids (under 10) seemed a little steep for foot passengers, so I hoping I could get a link to a special offer or something. Anyway, thanks for your input

If you check in at the terminal they will give you a good rate

Pinky Moons Diner is a must when you get to Larne

Really? You think it's safe to just turn up, and reckon it's cheaper? Cheapest I've found is £48 for an adult and two children under 10.

Pinky Moons Diner - thanks for that. Reviews seem to agree with you - nice one

The ferries are never near capacity. I've been on them all the year through, and they tend to be used mainly for freight, so they will do you the best deal to fill the boat as you are a foot passenger

This is a very good search engine for ferry prices.

The thing to remember is that it is school holidays and a bank holiday, so just turning up may not be advisable.

This is a quote for travel on Tuesday at 10.30am

Giving a price of £44 total

Thanks for this also  Yes, I've found that price too, but they prefer to take the 12.50 ferry (which is £48) since they have a 90 minute drive to Larne and prefer a leisurely Irish brekkie that morning.

Thanks all - seems like it's a decision of whether to buy now at £48 or just turn up. I think I'll probably take the former just to be safe

EDIT: Ooooh, a shiny new red dot given - I like giving those!
