After I have used it, about 2 hours later there will water in the drum - it smells like stale water and stinks! So if I don't take my washing out straight away when it's finished then the stale water will go on the clothes and I have to wash them again.

I have cleaned out the drainage thingy but it's still happening, anyone know what the problem could be?

Thank you!

The water gets pumped in and should be getting pumped back out via the drainage system, and shouldn't return, probably have to look at a repair or replacement.

blockage in the waste pipe backing up.

Sounds like the pump not extracting the water. It may not even be putting clean in

the water is backing up into the drum from somewhere hon... I woulda suggested the filter/drain thingy at the front but if you've cleaned that out I'm not sure... unless you're using another machine and somehow the water from that is being pushed up into the washing machine from further down in the plumbing.. it happens to me with my dishwasher/washing machine sometimes if the pipes beneath the sink are sludgy... check all your pipes are clean babes x x

Clean the filter out - the little door at the bottom of machine.

The water is being taken out but some comes back in later on, and I can see the fresh water going in

How do I do that - take the waste pipe off? O ris there some unblocking stuff I can buy to do it?

It sounds like it's not draining properly, could there be a blockage in your waste pipe?

I'd pull the machine out, put the drain pipe into a bucket, let the machine fill slightly and then drain it. If the bucket fills up your machine is fine and the problem is with the drain.

Just dump it in next doors garden (well you wouldn't want it in yours would you) and buy another one :)

that sounds a bit technical to me, may have to wait till OH gets home from holiday next week. If it was the machine though, wouldn't the thing have flooded by now? It's been happening for over a month now

Will certainly suggest that to OH and then just hope that the problem isn't the pipes.
May I have your address to send the invoice to, in case you're wrong/

firstly make sure you've cleaned out the filter thing at the front of the machine, its usually in the bottom right hand corner. sometimes it just gets sludgy or a small sock or summin gets stuck there and stops the water flowing out.

I make sure my pipes are clean by running hot water through with a lil bleach or you can try a cup of washing powder or some of that special stuff you can buy from the stores... I paid to have them done once... there was a dead rat stuck inside the pipe, mega yuk!!

Hpw old is your washng machine? Just wondering, if you're in a hard water area like we are it mighta just limescaled up inside...
