Anyone know what these symbols mean?

See image below.

Some friends of ours have a Candy Electric Cooker (no manual) but cannot figure out what the symbols mean on either side of one of the knobs. Anyone have a clue?

Sorry about the paint job image - I forgot to take a photo.

Sorry don't know but they might find this site useful?

http://www.candy.it/libretti/libretto.cfm?lang=2&country=7&brand=candy

The single one means the top heating element is used

The double means both top and bottom elements are used - convectional cooking

is it not turn it to the left for single ring and right for double ring or something like that ? i know my dad used to have one a bit similar .. or if its a push knob it might have two " height " settings for something or other lol

if its the oven knob as opposed to the hob it will more than likely mean single or double oven

Thanks guys. I think that a combination of the answers (except DAMNOME's :)) will solve it for our friends.
