The problem is that its turning on and all that but it ain't cooling or warming.

So basicallyy, Its currently useless.

However I do want to use it, does anyone know why and if it is possible to fix it?

Could it be the temperature in my room lol (according to my alarm clock its 30c in here - lol - it does genuinelly feel like that.

Your room temperature shouldn't make any difference, is it old? Has it got a dial on the inside that might have been turned down by someone? Does it make any sounds from the back, like the gas bottle rattling every so often?

Make, Model?

Yeah, it's probably not working as it's too hot in your room.

Maybe you should put your mini-fridge in a fridge so it cools down?

I hope you realise how stupid you sound.

.... hmm... terrible joke lol

So if it were 100c in my room, then my mini fridge should in theory still work???... ha ha.. (it would be taking in very hot air through the fan)

Anyways, back on subject, why isn't it working (what could be causin the problem)

forgot to the say, the fan seems to be spinning fine etc)

i'm doubting it has a gas botle in it..

the fan is whirring as loud as ever. (aka. the fans fine)

Seriously, how the hell do you expect anyone to fix your fridge on the internet.

If you're that bothered about it go and buy a new one, they're not very expensive at all.

Can you not take it back, or make it into a retro gamecube case?
#9
AC/DC It sounds like one of those caravan ones! Is there any sounds or lights in it? What I'm getting at is if the lights not working it could be a fuse, if the light works but not getting cold, it sounds like it needs re-gassing, so pretty much had it, as it would probably cost as much to re-gas as to get a reconditioned one from a shop.

Timothy are you willing and able to open up the fridge to get to the fuse etc... if not any info is useless.
#13
Can you still hear the fan working on it?
if yes, then the peltier module (what cools or heats the contents) could have failed. not sure but there may be a fuse inside also.
if the fan cannot be heard, does the LED light light up?
#14
If it's one of these then I thought you were talking about a family fridge!!

from what i can tell from looking through the back, its just a fan and a big heatsink?

At £10 it has done well to last aslong as it did. time to invest in a new one or use the family fridge.

no they don't, but until the OP told us the model number I thought it was going to be a Smeg or Zanussi, LOL!!

As it's been mentioned before if it lights up but that's it, the fuse will be OK and the cooling unit is possible gone.

It's not a fridge, it's a head cooler/warmer in this weather. It's small enough to wear as a hat!

if you seriously want to find the problem, (which you don't)
get a voltage meter and check the board etc so you can pinpoint the problem.

also the jfk is right, they are cheap....

I will see if I can get hold of/ borrow a voltmeter.

It just seems strange to me in how it has actually broke...

How can you spend £10 on a mini-fridge and expect it to last forever?

There is NOTHING wrong with the fridge, they are very dependent on the external air temperature

Think of an air conditioning unit, they expel the hot air out side

thanks lumoruk

I knew it seemed a bit strange for something so simple not working, yet showing all the signs of working normally.

I've just stuck my big fan behind it as, I can tell you for a fact its pushing cooler air to it. (Its on all the time at the moment anyway (its on like 18 hours of the day (trying to get to sleep without it would be a nightmare as I'd literally melt)

Its partially cause I'm in the loft lol

In the rest of the house, coming from my room is like stepping into a breeze lol.

I'm glad I don't live in the same house but in london lol.. I can just imagine what it'd be like considering its meant to be 31c so it'd be almost 40c (yeesh) in theoryish...

Thanks for the advice.

It's also as soon as you open the door the temperature inside is room temperature again and you have to wait for it to cool all over again. The girlfriend had one once, the milk and yoghurts went off after a day.

None of those mini ones ever really work, just a gimmick, we had one.
