what is it standard

standard is 2.6. So 3.6 is still a decent overclock on it - Although, should get it up to 4Ghz.

i dont get it? cant you just overclock it youself :S

12GB RAM!? Wtf you do with all that memory, run the NASA systems?

12GB is overkill. 6GB would of been more than sufficient. The extra 6GB would of cost atleast an extra 120. But if you have money to burn why not! Id of rathered spent that + an extra 200 or so to have dual 5870's

OP is the type of guy with more money than sense.

i bet he uses that PC for facebook and minesweeper and would like "MOAR POWER".

If you can't manage to DIY with all the info on the net then you don't really want to be messing with overclocking.

Post up some temperature readings for us using RealTemp while under load using something like Prime 95. Although the H50 is fairly good and gets some great reviews, after using one on a friends system it turned out to be not that much better than after market air cooling. A fair bit quieter but I still was unable to push his d0 to more than 4Ghz with Hyperthreading (HT) off and 3.6/7 with it on.

Not all chips are made equal. I got his chip to 4.4ghz with HT on, it posted but obviously it wasn't stable, with more voltage and better cooling.. No doubt I could of got it stable, but seriously don't expect too much from the H50, it is really no better than a good air cooling set-up. So when you see people running at 4.4ghz with water-cooling, chances are they are using a water-cooling set-up that costs 5-10x that of the H50.

The H50 is good, but I don't personally see it as a great replacement for air cooling for over-clocking, the benefits of it are basically its cheap price and the fact its a fair bit quieter than some of those after-market coolers. As far as I can tell there is practically no over-clocking difference between it and air-cooling, so don't expect to get the chip up to 4.4ghz with HT on.

I'd have rather spent it on something a tiny bit more useful, like another monitor or a friend.

Hey Guys, thanks for all the comments

The 6gb ram was going to cost 200 and the 12gb was 240 so for an extra 40quid an 6gb of ram was well worth the deal lol, also the other reason for the 12gb was need for vmware to run virtual machines,

Just booted machine after reieving back from cclonline and its now back to standard 2.67 again,

I could overclock myself but i dont know much about it and i never have any time to learn stuff just keep working, thats why i paid ccl the extra 40 quid for them to overclock it to fine they didnt evern oc it and then they said its at 3.6ghz but not even see that happen once yet - takn the machine back a couple of times

anyway, if any of you can help if you can PM me with when your available and dont mind paying for a bit of your time...then let me know please

Kind Regards,

Shazarda
