I recently ordered the Toy Story DVD boxset from CeX, now I ordered this last Friday and I recieved an email saying it had being despatched Sunday but obviously it wouldn't be on its travels until Monday.

I've still to recieve my order and am wondering if it'll be worth calling them tomorrow (a week since I placed my order) to find out where the order is or if there is anything they can do.

Has anyone had any experience with them? Do they normally take a while to deliever?
Tomorrow will be 5 working days and their website says 2-5 days but royal mail first class is usually much quicker, just get slightly worried as they've taken my money with no sign of the product!

Many thanks for your help HUKDer's!

Are you serious? Hoping that's a sarcastic comment,

regarding the backlog at work we've had no issues all post arriving on time, hopefully that will be the reason and my dvd will arrive sooner as oppossed to later!

some areas where not as badly hit as others

I've ordered from them before and had my items within 4 working days. If it doesn't arrive tomorrow I would give them a call, won't do any harm.

CeX is good.

Every CeX store I've been to is run by teenagers and customer service has been terrible.

I assume that when you order online, the order gets put through to a specific store maybe and they send out the item? If this is the case, I can just imagine the lazy staff never get round to anything.

Another thing that bugs me about CeX is that they no phonelines what-so-ever. They do all communication via email which can easily be ignored or replied to after days/weeks. I've emailed them in the past with some 'non-standard' questions and have never heard back. Probably cos they involve the slightest amount of effort to respond to...

If they do go into liquidation as mentioned above, I'd (guiltily) welcome the news. It amazes me they have so many stores over the country when their service is so terrible (and don't get me started on their trade in prices and resale prices! £48 for CoD:MW2?! LOL WUT!?!) ... then again, we do have the likes of PC World which are still around despite their awful service.

Oops.. seem to have gone off on one! OP, hang in there and wait longer but if it hasn't turned up by next week, send them an email (wouldn't expect a reply though). If it gets really bad, look up their staff & customers Facebook 'fan page'. A lot of the staff use it and you might be able to get through to someone there (it's full of questions directed at staff and some do actually get a reply!).

cex is good never had a problem with them ordered 5 blu rays from them monday there coming every day lucky me ay
#16
as far as I am aware - when you order online, they send this order over to the relevant store that has it in stock who somtimes send them immediately or others take ages to get the games out - ive had an order on there that was sent by two different stores, one arrived after 3 days, the other 2 weeks later after I had written it off as not arriving!
#17
Well 5 days today and it looks as though it hasn't arrived again, 5 days on royal mail first class, I know there has being a strike but seriously? It won't come at the weekend so with it not coming today it's going to mean at least 7 days.

In my experience first class doesn't equal 7 days, it's probably some lazy staff who forgot to post it!

Agree with others here customer service is abysmal but they do have some cheap DVD prices instore, I think in future I'll stick with in-store only!

I'm still hanging in though, hopefully it'll arrive this side of Christmas! XD

one arrived after 3 days, the other 2 weeks later

Pardon me for asking but did it have the date it was posted on the item that arrived 2 weeks later? I'm just curious as to how a product takes 2 weeks to arrive in first class!?!?

Product hasn't arrived today so have emailed them but don't know how long a reply will be!

I only ever order relatively high value goods off CeX, the majority of stores get stuff out within a day or two of you receiving the actual dispatch email. There's always the few that don't bother for quite a while and sometimes you have to chase them.

As for emailing CS, if it relates to a particular order you should get a reply within two days or so. If it doesn't relate to an order it'll probably be ignored.

i have sold to cex and bought from cex, before and had no problems

It relates to my order but I'm a bit p****d off if I'm going to have chase up my order because some incomptent staff have forgotten or haven't dispatched it.

I know the store it's coming from so is it worth calling the actual store?

And if they haven't dispatched it already then why would I have a confirmation email?

I've lost faith in their online service, I wouldn't mind it coming sometime this week but it's not made it here in 7 days!
#22
They dropped me a reply blaming royal mail but they did, however, say my order was despatched on the 8th which makes it 6 days since despatch.

They said it will probably turn up when royal mail find the package again.

Otherwise I'm waiting 28 days for my money back -_-

Not impressed.
#23
Ordered a game from them a few weeks ago, game arrived 7 days after i got the 'despatched' email
#24
7 working days or 7 actual days?
#25
Well hopefully it'll turn up, I'll be disappointed if it doesn't!

7 actual days and the disc was loose inside the case so it had beeen getting battered about like mad all week in the post! Cant get to try it until Xmas day but hopefully it will be fine.
#27
here's hoping for you (: and here's hoping my dvd will arrive! I'm on 7 actual days today!

cant see why you are slating CEX so much. You ordered an item and they sent it. You asked for dispatch info and they provided it. Yet here you are calling all the staff lazy and incompetent without a shred of proof.

Its bound to be stuck in the RM backlog.

10 days encounting and still no dvd.

I'm actually refering to the staff at my local, several times I've being stood in a que where only 2 positions were open and there were members of staff talking and one even on facebook!

My reply they sent me was standard, it basically told me it's not their problem and so I have to lump it until 28 days pass. And I only have their word they sent it, judging by some peoples replies in this thread they aren't the most reliable for this!

And am I in my rights to slate them, after all 10 days later via first class, postal strike or not it's only coming from Sheffield to Leeds and it has been 11 days since the strike ended almost 2 weeks. My point being that I'm not the only one saying the staff are lazy but blaming the issue on the Royal Mail is unfounded, it does not take this long for the company to catch up. I've recieved letters sent on the 11th November and recieved them 13th. It's CeX who are at fault, the staff probably forgot to post it.

All that has happened here is me being out of pocket until early Decemeber when I can request for a refund.

Is it worth calling my local sorting office or do you think they'd have a left note if they had been?

As has been said previously, there is still a massive backlog cos of the strikes. Come back and complain if it arrives and has a RM date stamp of after the date they said it was posted.......................................:-D

I got a parcel last week that took 3 weeks to arrive but post stamp was 4 days after I ordered it. I didnt feel the need to needlessly slate the company I bought it from ;-)

I would certainly ring your local post office.

Seems I may have had a cheeky postie?

Is anyone else in the same situation after the recent strike?

My order was dispatched just after the strikes finished on the 8th November, however, depsite all my letters arriving, even those dated after my dvd was dispatched have all arrived!

I've emailed CeX where I ordered the DVD from and they reckon it's a lost parcel but they can't do anything until my 28 days are up which isn't until December. At first I thought it might be a backlog of sorts but it's now 10 days since I placed my order and 8 days since it was dispatched via first class!

I'm not sure if I'm being paranoid but I get the impression that a cheeky postie may have nabbed my dvd.

The DVD isn't even coming far, I live in Leeds and the dvd is coming from Cex's Sheffield store!

Just wondering if I'm the only one? And if I'm right to be as paranoid and anxious as I am!

It isn't just me who has slated this company, if you read the full thread you'll see that 70% of people have had a bad experience with CeX.

And I don't think it'll be coming!

lol, the truth is I don't know, there's a lot of speculation and you must understand why I'm anxious, I've never being in this situation before and I've never had a parcel arrive late, throw in the fact this is my first online CeX order (bought instore from them numerous times before) and throw in people bad mouthing both CeX and RM,

Who should I blame? Nobody really knows at all, I can only go on what I've being told.

It's the not knowing who/what is causing the delay that causes this, howver, I would like to know if there's anyone still waiting on RM after the strikes or if it's just me?

They're not holding it, they suggested I contact CeX but as stated already have done.

Hopefully it may turn up, I don't want a refund, I actually want my goods!

Still not arrived, it'll be 2 weeks tomorrow now so I'm beginning to give up hope of this actually arriving :(

CEX online really sucks waiting 3 days for my phone to be despatched sine Tuesday 12:00 it's said awaiting dispatch cex has a rubbish online service and I heard they keep high value goods back on purpose till they get the money because they have been scammed before
