Can anyone recommend a good 37 Inch television? Perhaps you've recently purchased one and your really impressed with it. I have been browsing the internet and I'm confused with all the models and types! I like the look of the Panasonic Viera but there are all different model numbers and I haven't a clue what to look for! I'm just looking to buy a tv for ordinary telly watching and not gaming or anything. Guess it would need to be HD ready to eh? Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Price range always helps. No good recommending a Pioneer plasma if you only want to spend £400. I know you said Panansonic but you get my drift.

TBH Pannys are one of the best on the market... a little bit more expensive but well worth it. Pioneer have now pulled out of the tv market, so any of them you see will be old stock or second hand. Sony's are good, a lot of people **** them off, but the one i just got for my bedroom is a very nice tv. Then you get into the realms of Samsung, Toshiba, LG, which are still good brands but not quite up there with the previous two mentioned.

You said about HD ready... all tvs now sold are HD ready but it depends if you want to go 'future proof' and go for Full HD. Maybe you wont want it now but in say 2 years time when HD becomes more widely accessible you may kick yourself for not paying that bit extra and instead having to purchase another one if you get SkyHD etc.

Surprised to hear Pioneer had pulled out of the market considering they were considered to be amongst the 'elite'.
But maybe it's possible now to pick a new 'old stock' Pioneer at a good price? Their existing tvs don't suddenly become rubbish do they?
But I do agree that it would be wise to spend the little extra for full HD.

Thanks for that Marzbarz. Think I'm going to go for that one!

PS What do you all think of Comets extra care plan? Worth having?
