not a chance here in Wales its to cloudy , but the sky does look a strange colour in patches.
Personally if its not to cloudy i think Scotland will get the best views

Yeah HTH , i think it's certain times of the year are the best -
Its a closer destination than norway and a hell of a lot cheaper

Saying that though I think there is more chance of seeing the NL in Norway , I see they have cruises to see them and they are going more reasonable nower days -

Orkney is my favourite place in the world!! Have friends up there and go up as often as I can - long journey though and older my son gets, the more he just doesnt want to go!

I could live there :)

you can get cheap ish flights up there eg get a ryan air flight to edinborough then train it to thurso and you can catch the ferry to orkney from there -

I used to live near wick years ago - and it was great , unspoilt and the views were amazing .
My other half used to work in the hospital and used to come home in the early hours and used to see the NL on the way home .

Seen them in the Outer Hebrides - missed the best of the show earlier that year and just caught them at their end!

Can't see the from Kent - just the police helicopter keeping the children awake!
