I've got this bug at the moment and not had anything to eat all day apart from 30min ago, had some toast with lucozade

Been on and off the toilet also, if anyone has or gets this the best thing to do is not eat all day

Apart from water, I'm coming round now (sort of) today was not a good day

Yeh have no energy and had to get Lisa to make the toast

Had the sweats also and a bit shivery, apparently it's only a 24ht bug

Lisa, her mum, her dad, my mum, my dad even 10month old Katie had it

MagicBeans, honestly there is still time for you to catch it

I hope you don't though

We all had a 24 hour bug over half term, took it in turns though - which was nice. I had it last, which meant everyone else was better and forgot how I looked after them, so no-one looked after me! magicbeans is right, Mums aren't allowed to be ill - there's certainly no time for it!

Had a cold for around 2 weeks now & for the last 5 days had a buzzing noise in my ear & just hoping to wake-up one day without it :-/

In a population of over 60 million people i think it's fair to say there are always going to be people with 24hr stomach bugs, colds etc.

Two of my kids have had measles in the last month. Similar symptoms to those mentioned above before "the spots" appear.

Not wishing to alarm anybody; but just saying! :)

Out of interest, how old are they, and had they had the MMR or equivalent?

The two that were affected are primary school children &, no, they had not had the measles, mumps & rubella immunization.

Their eldest sibling has had.

The reason I mentioned the potential connection is that myself & my partner both had similar symptoms before we were aware the infection of the respiratory system was present in our household.

Just bear this in mind if passing an individual showing signs of being poorly as they may be carrying a similar viral infection but do not exhibit all the attributes of the full-blown illness. You may then become a carrier & pass it on to somebody who has not been immunized.

When my boys all had chicken pox both me and hubby had a very bad dose of the flu (just before they got all spotty), and I believe this was connected. Now the pox is back at school, and we've had really bad full body colds again. Not seen any measles lately, but I'll avoid it like the plague in my condition. If only the spots were all out so it was obvious, BEFORE it became contagious, not the other way around!

Not forgetting, of course, that some consider humans are a virus with shoes, but a virus has a great self-preservation mechanism, or a sense of humour, by drawing attention to the potentially deadly payload after it has abused the human defence system & left a parting gift for amusement.

Just in a family of four or five a "common" cold can mutate many times so that after one member has become well again the chance of re-infection is possible in a short space of time.

Yes, I'm sure your symptoms are connected, as I believe my own were.

If you start sneezing though, don't mention the plague again or somebody may say "God bless you" for the last time.
