I am taking part in the 10k Epsom race on 28th june....well im going to attempt it anyhow lol, so any tips? How long will it take roughly (mix of walking/running lol)

Think its a great way to keep up with the dieting and gym, at the same time doing my bit to help! We cant ask for on here anymore but if any one wants to sponsor me, drop me an email :)

So come on guys who else is doing it!!?

**update 24th june**

OOOHHHH just a few days to go......

has anyone run at Epsom before??

i would like to know if theres seating for spectators as my mum is coming with my kids and she will need a proper seat due to health problems, she wont be able to sit on the floor?? so if not she wont be able to come.

thank you guys

Well done and hope it goes well.

My daughters ran/walked in our local race for life after the diagnosis of a close family member, they thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience, the atmosphere was great and couldn't wait to sign up for the next one!
Good luck and enjoy:)

How are you progressing with the gym loupomm?
#28
ooohhh i missed all these bumps! thank you everyone and well done all those doing it too! also thank you those who have sponsored me xx
#29
Hey Lou,

Well done for going for it! You will absolutely love it. The atmosphere alone is amazing I didn't train for either event and to tell you the truth the first year I ran it i still smoked (yeah I know pretty hypocritical considering its one of the main causes of Cancer). I ran it in 28 minutes.

The second year I had to walk most of it as they set the walkers off just in front of the runners and we couldn't get past them.

I havent done it for 2 years mainly because I was pregnant and then just had a baby but after losing 2.5 stone this last 12 months and the fact I haven't smoked in 3 years I really fancy doing it again this year.

I will wish you the very best of luck but my advice is just turn up and start running.

Not sure how you are getting there, but you could take a folding chair with you? Depending on health problems, your local GP might be able to loan you a wheelchair for the day
#34
There was no seating at our race for life this year. Does your mum have a portable chair - you could carry it for her - and the you will also know where to meet her at the end.
#35
hmmm no unfortunately my mum wont contemplate a wheel chair, shes being very funny, its hard enough getting her to see a doctor, she thinks shes wasting their time

she has serious arthritis and a dodgy hip, standing for long or even sitting for long is painful, the folding chair is a good idea though thank you, being a racecourse i doubt they will provide seating?
#36
i can't believe its only a few days away now, i'm looking forward to it but not the next day lol

No seating Lou I am afraid but as Kelly says, take a folding chair or something along those lines

I can't find your sponsor link in the new profile thingy, I am not about much and haven't been able to see you online. Can you send it me and I will get it done now I am employed x
