I use compatibles from a local 'geek' computer shop in town. They work fine, both colour and black inks

I got mine from svp.co.uk - Jettek brand worked quite well.

However it depends on your printer model - I have a Epson R265 and came across a "CISS" system for it - looking at it, I thought it would be too hard - but really it turned out pretty easy and has made my printing *very* inexpensive.

I wrote it up here: http://pgregg.com/blog/2009/02/valentines-ciss.html

That was in February, now 4 months later (I would have been on my 3rd change of carts by now) the ink in those wells is just down by a little over 1 cm (the wells in the pics are about 10cm deep). I can highly recommend a CISS system if you can get one for your printer.

Oh, and I print out photo quality prints and they are excellent quality.

nothing in the town no, there was some inks i had before this crap pack and they where good, but cant remember the name of them, this last pack where hopeless, also im sick of haveing to clean the jets/nozzles whatever there called, the last set of 4 inks i put in i had to keep doing the cleaner thing and by time i got it prining good the ink had ran out - pmsl, maybe genuine is better - lol

You should buy yourself a cheap laser printer. You can get greyscale printers for under £40, and toner is so cheap it's unreal. We've printed over 1500 pages with our printer, and only ever paid something like £12 for a couple of tubs of toner refill.

I used to get mine from ebay but the last lot were rubbish too, ended up not printing some colours at all. I get them from https://www.internet-ink.co.uk now. A little dearer but still much cheaper than originals and the cartridges are 3 times the capacity of the originals and they send you a discount code with first order for 10% forever! (its "giveme10")

jeeps no wonder last lot was crap, paid less for 10 than these are charging for 4 - lol

Yuss, but you can still use the scanner of your current printer for scanning stuff and just save tons of cash by printing with the laser. It's a long-term saving, yeah, but it's going to save you a lot if you print much.

only got it two years ago, canne afford to replace, its only used for kids printing out crap, so not over bothered about quality, but actually prining would be good, and deffo got no room for two, we only got lappies so no desks, this printer is dumped on daughters bedroom floor since we got rid of desktop - lol

I get mine from UKDVDR, a set of 6 for £3.90 + P&P (£2.49 I think) or 5 full sets for £18.55 + P&P.

These are the same carts as SVP sell but the postage is cheaper and I rarely have problems with them.

One thing I have noticed especially with compatables is that you have to use the printer regulary on they will clog up.

Hi sassie, unfortunatly not, SVP don't even do the HUKD (or any other forum) discount anynore :x

I rarely use them any more as the other companies in the ENET group (BigPockets, UKDVDR etc) do the same products often cheaper with cheaper postage charges
