Yeah the picture quality was fab but i would not pay it for a pic that small, they quite often have a promo stand in supermarkets where they advertise for £25 but dont know what the ties r with these

I bought my parents the experience for xmas one year....they chose to spend quite a lot on approx 12 shots....I thought the whole experience was very good, was made fun and most of the photos are very relaxed, could have a dig around and see if I can find a couple on the computer (I scanned them so they are nowhere near as clear as the originals) although not too sure where they are...any more questions I can answer just ask em....

when I bought the one I used it was approx £20-£25, had 12 months to organise an appointment, went along, think it took a couple of hours, a few days later we were invited back to be shown a slideshow of the pics, could then choose the inclusive (free) one in a choice of 2 frames (could pay more for others).....we then chose to pay to get the other photos in different sizes :)
Reason why my mum paid so much is I was off to uni and my brother was moving out....was kinda the last year we were all going to be together so she thought it was worth it :)

Yeah, that was exactly what I was about to say. I am not sure if there are any offers on their website usually, but you see them all the time in shopping centres etc. For £25 you get the whole experience and 1 photo which is definitely worth it, but after that it depends on your control whether you want to buy any of the other amazing pics which are very costly!
#7
Interesting, I guess it depends how much the whole lot cost, but £95 for a tiny one sounds totally over the top.

A few of my friends seem to have had photo shoots lately, a name that comes to mind is 'fresh'. I think they must have just paid for the cd, as all of their images have been put on facebook. I assume this must work out cheaper in the long run-you can pay Klick or Max Spielman to put the image on a canvas/blow it up for you.

I guess they could make up their mind if they wanted to pay it for any more. All round everyone seems to be pleased though. May look out for the promo offers in supermarkets, ta everyone. :-D

just asked my mum n she thinks she spent £1500 on about 15 photos....but they varied in sizes :)
#11
We tried them before. Given the £25 voucher for 10x8 inch photo, why not? They are very professional, great with the kids and took lots of nice shots. We were strongly 'advised' to buy big ones but the price they quoted were way too high. The photos were fabulous, so we ended up with the 'free' photo and 3 other 10x8 inch (all framed) for another £70 if im not mistaken.

Another friend, with cash to spare, actually took their £1500 framed black and white photos. Must say it was fantastic but for that amount, i'll pass.....

Its OK....like I said my mum wanted that much...we werent pressured into it at all. The photos are in black frames so might be the types aria21 is on about....have found a few on my computer but the quality really is bad! as I didnt take them out of the frames to scan....so would be a bit pointless showing you them. The photos on the promotional material for venture are very much like the ones you get....I mean they dont just show the 'best' ones....I think for the free (£25) photo venture are fab
#15
They are fantastic but cost an absolute fortune. It is so hard to say no and only have the one photo which is included. I believe you are looking around £600 for one large photo!!
Don't know where you are based but there are lots of independant photographers around who do deals at less than 1/2 the price. I have just made a booking with a local lady whose photos are just as good.
I have also used Olan Mills in the past... but I don't know if they are still in business
#16
We've done the Olan Mills (who have now gone bust by the way - no surprise there then!!) and found that each time we went again, we replaced the "old fashioned" ones from before. Last Xmas we decided to take the plunge and go to Venture as I wanted a couple of family prints that will stay on my wall forevermore and it was great fun. The prints are out of this world but yes, they are expensive. I would say that if you can be strong and just take the freebie then go for it, or if you want an outstanding picture that will last for years and years then go for it, anything else and I'd give them a miss.

hi there, yeah ive used venture when my son was born , they do take the most amazing , natural photos, but they are very pricey. they really do make you feel at ease when your at the photo shoot, none of these 'fake posing' 'photos, i would definitely recommend them to anyone as long as you have the dosh!!

buy a photo experience gift package from Boots for 40 quid

this gives you the free photo session and a 10 by 8 with venture

you still have the hard sell to upgrade or buy more though

done this for 4 years running,

venture set a maxium of one boots package per year

I bought my photo experience direct from Venture and it was £25 with a 10 x 8 included, I know they do different offers at different times of the year so worth looking around (or haggling) to get the best deal with them.

£25 is cool it will do what I want it to do and that is give a gift, it sounds as though everyone is pleased with the shots they take. But, as always you are tempted by the fab pics. Thanks a bunch appreciate it.

try newidexperience
I had a makeover pamper delux for mum and when she rang to book it, they let her take me FREE. so we both had the full works. Colour, nails, hair, facial then photo shoot. I paid £30 but if you look online you will get a bargain atm. In the current climate they are gagging for business.
#23
dont get me wrong the Venture stuff is great and the framed prints look excellent but last Christmas i contacted the woman who did my wedding photos she took some great ones of my son very much in the style of 'venture' ie white background etc put them on CD and printed up all of the photos for me for £50. Might be another option:)
#24
I've used Venture before- the £25 voucher option- and as long as you can resist the hard sell when they show you your photos then it's well worth it IMO. xx

Ventures are fanchises, so i guess it is up to each owner whether they want to cut prices, its worth a haggle

Boots the Boots gift package is nationally accepted.

most people spend a grand
#27
Yeh we got 4 big pictures in our house, they are really good and worth the money

They are lovely pics by venture but also so expensive
#29
It is very intresting all the options coming up and I thank you for all your input it is appreciated, the thing I like the sound of at Venture is that the photos look so naturel and full of fun. The price is enormously restrictive have to think on that one.
