Getting a DiNovo wireless keyboard from my mother-in-law for Xmas - just dawned on me that my PS2 KVM will be useless when I want to work from home.

Reading on-line horror stories about Logitech wireless keyboards and KVMs.

Anyone got a successful setup ?

Ditch the KVM and use something like VNC/Logmein/Radmin? I doubt you will find a prefect solution to your problem.

A long time ago I saw a software which allowed you to remote control another computer keyboard/mouse via TCP/IP . You would basically have two monitors/computers and one set of keyboard/mouse. When you moved the mouse cursor off the first screen it reappears on the other monitor, which would be connect to the other computer. The link between the two was network based, so no KVM needed.

Unfortunately the second PC is mostly my work laptop, which is locked down tighter than an islanders daughter...

Been happy with my no-brand PS/2 KVM - only started to read about the logitech issues when the new keyboard arrived (had to order it myself, then hand over to be wrapped up for Christmas !)

Does the KVM have a physical button to switch or does it use a keyboard shortcut?

If it has a button the simplest solution will likely be to move the USB dongle over to the other computer, every time you switch.

The current KVM is a softkey switch (Scroll lock - Scroll lock - Esc) with no physical switch.

Really want to avoid having to swap the bluetooth dongle. Happy to buy a USB switch (within limits) but just want to see if there is a known compatible one.

I had to look on Wikipedia to find out what a KVM was. Now I know. Thanks

In the end I bought a ATEN CS102U from ebay - 2 PORT USB KVM but has an integrated USB hub that shares devices between the 2 PCs. and has a physical swich to change PCs

I'm hoping that by ignoring the Keyboard and mouse USB ports, and using the USB hub post for the logitech recieved that I can then retain full use of the keyboard between PCs...

I'll post here if successful ...
