Ok so heres the situtation...im going to be going back home for a while and Orange doesnt work very well out there (not what they told me when i signed up) but anyhows is there anyone who would want to take over my contract as im going to need to get a new contract but cant afford to pay two

My contract is £35/month 500mins unlimited texts and a w910i with 1gb memory card

I know this is a long shot but someone mite want to take me up on this (heres hoping)

The contract is 18 months and if anyone takes this offer they will pay from month 9 (at which stage they can reduce the tarrif to £30/month (400mins and unlimited texts)

MODS:I hope this is allowed if not feel free to remove it

Dont think you will get anyone because anyone that wants a contract could get one on 12 minth contract for same price with a free gift and 2 free mobiles - ie free ps3/laptop/lcd/wii etc.

Your better trying to get a friend or relative or someone to take it.

Good luck!!

every relative/friend is already on a contract already :x

if it doesnt work where you are moving to take it up with orange! they can check coverage for you, and if you are not covered they should release you? i would have thought though you would be covered most areas? where will you be moving to?

my hubby is potentially interested but do you know what the procedure is for taking over a contract ???
#6
does it come with a phone?or just sim? might be intrested pm me

Arent you worried that the contract was originally on your name, with the credit check under your details, so if you changed the billing address and direct debit details, Orange would still most likely chase you if the new person just takes the phone and doesnt pay the bills :) after all it wasnt them that agreed to sign up with Orange in the first place...

If you change the name on the account, Orange will run a credit check on the new name.

In relation to another call i had about another phone, as far as im aware the whole contract would be moved onto the other persons name and bank

Ya, you can transfer the whole contract to another person. Just not sure whether that person would have to start a fresh 18 month contract or not. Anyways, interested to know the result!
#12
well i am away to work here but will ring orange on the way up here and then i can give everyone a definite answer..it was the person in cpw who suggested this so hopefully it will work
#13
I'm interested, i'll wait for more details though
#14
ok the process is easy, i rang orange yesterday and i simply have to ring then up and tell them i want to transfer to another person, and they will then carry out a credit check on the other person and if that is accepted they will transfer the contract there and then.

From what i gather i will pay upto the date on transferring and then the other person takes over the contract.

anyone??
#16
yes the process is very easy, all the Oringal contract holder has 2 do is call Orange Transfers on 0800 079 0005

Say you want to trasfer contract, and give the full name of the person taking over the contract

THEN

The person taking over the contract has to ring that same freephone number 0800 079 0005

and say they want to take over the contract, giving the OP telephone number and your name.

THen the credit checkwill carried out, and on the next billing date the new account will be created.

yeah contract would be sorted very quickly

is anyone still interested in this? i will remove it tonight if no one wants it :)

Hi everyone,

I'm facing a similar situation as the original post. In January 2010 I got a new contract with the network 3 and two month later I joined a new company that gave me a phone that I can use for personal use so now I have 2 iphones and I would like to get rid of my personal iphone but I still have 18 month remaining....I would be wiling to offer the iphone 4 for free as long as someone takes over the contract...It is a bargain for who ever is considering to get an iphone 4....I spoke with the network and they say it is a easy and common activity that could be sorted in a couple of days. If you are interested write to *************** and we can try to arrange a time for you to see that the iphone is in perfect conditions ( london)
