I had one a few years ago and was successful. They asked me a lot of questions on their product range so good knowledge of Computers, Phones, consoles and games etc is a must. This was all they were interested in.

I doubt anyone will admit to it...

Don't think CEX employees have computers, they just concentrate on looking dirty and smelling of ****.

I did it for a couple of months. As far as retail work goes it beats stacking shelves or working at McDs.

But you must have stunk?! I've seen the customers (and staff) in a few!

haha, I'm not emo or anything and i do tend to wash ;), I do have computer knowledge, movies and games. I don't like that they don't have any uniform means I have to wear my own clothes :(

It was a brand new store, all the staff were new so the stink hadn't developed yet.

Brush up on mobile phones too, the interview went in depth on every aspect of the business but mobiles are a big part of it.

Everyone's an "expert" on movies and games these days. If you can excel in all areas the trade in then you'll stand out. My interview lasted an hour which is quite lengthy for the type of job and they were definitely more interested in me because I had a broad interest in technology as well as media.
Can't remember specific questions but they covered everything they sell. They did ask what IMEI was for example.
