Anyone work for Tesco?

On the wage slip, what does "Holiday ADJ" mean? I think it means Holiday Adjustment but what would be the reason behind it?

Also can they legally dock my wages without telling me? They have taken half my wages as a "Holiday Adjustment". I have not been told anything about this by my manager or his line manager....

thanks

yeah it means holiday adjustment

but why would your manager tell you or his manager???

its payroll that do it and they dont tell why suggest you phone them

and yeah they can dock your wages without telling you
#2
sounds like HR think you've taken more holiday than entitled to so have deducted pay accordingly.

I got work later so will see payroll later, but last time they tried to dock me my manager had a word with me about it.

I always take far less time than I am entitled too. The actual time they took is 11 hours which works out 2 days of work

This is the first issue I have had, but I never really have checked as I expect it to be right,

No, they pay monkeys :whistling:

2 other people said the other day they ******ed up their wages, so we will find out if something has gone wrong.

the thing is I had written confirmation how many days I had left of holiday to take, so I knew exactly what I had and I booked 2 weeks off (last feb) so it's taken them a year to take the money :x

I now have 12 days left to book for this year :w00t:

How many holidays were you made to book? I was made to book 6 and I only had the 6, but was only paid for 5. I am still waiting to hear if I will be getting my nearly £50 in 2 weeks time. Not impressed. They made me book that day so they should pay up.

they told me in october last year i had 3 days left to book and needed to book them, so i booked them for february just gone then took the money back off me in the ame wage i had the holidays.

I wasn't made to book them (If I don't use them up I lose them) but I wanted some time off and a manager checked the system and I had 13 days left so I booked 12.

I am really miffed as I would at least expected an explanation, as everyone who works for Big T doesn't have a lot of money, so taking wages can affect them hugely,

I had a week off in february which was booked in october :? I have had 12 days off this year so they can't say I am over my limit

in a company like Tesco your manager wouldnt have a clue about your wages unless was notified by Payroll
#16
I got given a signed piece of paper with my 6 holidays on by my manager last year, which after i took my feb holiday I threw, then this happens a week later :(

Hope we all get paid what we are owed soon

That's the thing, last time I had a discrepancy with my wages, my manager notified me about it and we sorted it out.

lol all companies payroll Dept's make 'cockups' this time of year................... claims don't get paid, overtime, etc etc....................year end book balancing bloody cheeky IMO
#19
are you a temporary or permanent member of staff?

if you are a temp then it may mean that they are doing a tax fiddle type of thing but legal because of the law on holiday pay and adjustments. If you work your wage out then the final figure would be correct but the working out looks as though you have been paid less .

your best speak ing to hr to gain an understanding.

Im going back in today as I never got any answers yesterday. Hope someone today can tell me if I will be getting this money soon or not!

same thing here i have had HOL ADJ for two months however i have found out why (for me at least)

i was allowed for example 10 days holiday + say 5 days BH leave

so i book 15 days holiday (all went through ok etc)

now the ADJ is beacuse they have take all the holiday from 'holiday' and none from bank holiday ent

speak to whoever does your wages (my case cash office) and they will swap it over and youll get the money back in next pay slip (2nd april as we are paid 2wks 2wks 4 wks atm)

i just had it out with work they now think my personal day was coded as a holiday which made the system take back the money.
#23
Still waiting for call back, I will go back in tomorrow, I will keep on at them till they at least apologise for me being down in money plus I get an answer to at least when I can expect it back.
