Evening all.

I have a picture that I want to get colour matched so will have to be buying Dulux paint.
I heard that Dulux have a hard wearing paint, is this correct? I think it was called 'diamond' or something similar.

Basically, I need a paint that I can wipe down with the messy kids - would kitchen/bathroom paint allow me to do that or not?

Also, some rough prices of the paint I am after would be great!
I need to do about 24m2, going from magnolia to cream - would one coat be enough?

Thanks in advance

I use that paint.

It's called Dulux Diamond Matt - you may be able to get it in different finishes, but I prefer matt.

It depends on what the colour is beneath the paint you're putting on if you wanna get away with one coat. I was going onto fresh plaster, so it took two coats on top of a miscoat of white.

It's a great paint - you can actually scrub it down.

I paid around £30 a tin with 5L from the Dulux Centre.

Thanks. I looked at the diamond and the endurance - both seem to have the same specs but the diamond is a bit more expensive on the B&Q website :?

The walls are magnolia at the moment and I am wanting to paint them cream, just a refresher really. Would love to get away with a 2.5L if possible as I am going to buy another pot in green for a feature wall so am already buying 2 pots

Thanks Sassie, but I am getting the paint mixed for me so cannot take one back, may have to just try and get 1 pot and then get another should I need it, but that will work out more expensive than just buying 1 large pot

endurance, used to be called real life.

But in Homebase you can buy Duracoat, Homebases own brand and has a high durability and is wipeable.

I have kids, and in experience, vinyl wallpaper is wipeable, also any soft sheen or silk paint is generally wipeable. You need a naughty corner if the little $hits write on the wall, id nip that little habit in the bud quickly, remember whos the boss, and it aint them, lol.

edit, just been in homebase today, their dulux paint is 3 for 2 @ £14.99 a tin, but, and this is the kicker, their dulux paint machine has 25 percent off and works out CHEAPER STILL.

I bought 3 tins of paint and have just spent 2 hours scraping off an old barbie border.

sorry folks, edits gone bad and all, lol.
