So ive had AOL for around 19 months now, one year contact and 7 months into a new 2 year contract. My package is the 8mb one and i used to get around 7ish MB. Now, around 3 months into the new contract my speed drop's by half, 3.5mb, this is the same package as the first and was fine for the first few months into the new one, so i phone them up, and we go trough the usual crap with changing router settings, no change, we get no where and after an hour im told to wait and call back after a week, so i phone up most weeks to be told to try the same things.
One day im told my phone line need to upgraded as they changed their servers, im told it should be sorted after a week, so here i am 5 week's later , with no change.

What should i do now?, month's spending almost an hour each time on the phone going through the same advice , nothing....

I only took up another contract as i was pretty happy with the 7 MB speed i was getting, now a little into the new contract it's halfed !.

Nothing has changed my end, setup wise.

What are my option's?

P.S. I know AOL suck !

I`ve had constant problems with aol too since the changeover. I cant browse the internet at all using the aol browser as it takes an age to get into websites.I now use firefox or IE to browse the internet with no problems. Sorry cant help with your contract question. The aol help message boards are great, lots of people on there that know what they are talking about. Unlike the utterly useless aohell helpdesk.

I've just had the exact same problem with them except I was getting 1.7mb but then was getting 250-512kbps I spoke to BT and AOL. Got nowhere with AOL but BT mentioned about asking AOL to get in touch with BT wholesale, so I did and got put through to a level 2 tech and hey presto waited 3 days and it is now back up to 1.7mb

And as a extra note BT rang me up this evening trying to sell me broadband and said they can guarantee me 4mb if I switch so tomorrow im getting on to AOL to see why they arent offering me this.

I feel your pain except your at least getting 3mb and i was on 512kbps!!
Hope you get it sorted!

You finished a 1yr AOL contract, and then voluntarily entered into a two year contract at the end of it? Please tell me you're only paying a fiver a month to them.
