Get in touch with AOL, they replaced my neighbours modem for him when his went faulty. Threaten to change to another ISP and as long as you're out of contract with them, they'll prob help you.

#4
I'll see if i can find it.

The old dear has literaly just changed her ISP and that's what she was using I know she was going to throw it out anyway so if no one else can help you i'll give her a bell tomorrow and see what she's done with it. I'll probably forget though so you'll have to send me a message tomorrow to remind me.

Me too but think it's a 105, I'll look tomorrow for it. Would it have to be a dedicated AOL one though or could it be configured manually?

Aw brilliant guys, hope you can help me. Dont need any wires just the modem....the switch at the back wont stay in to keep it turned on, hence a gigantic clup of blue tack sticking it in....but...when it gets out it loses it tightmess and hence i get cut off roughly every 10-15 minutes. Hope someone can help, am desperate x

Buy a netgear one. They are excellent and reliable.
#11
P.S I am normally decent at spelling, thats what babies do to you, when you try and multi task!!
#12
Worst comes to worst and you can't get one it's probably an easy fix if you take the lid off, they're very simple inside modems
#13
yeah would aol not send you a new one.

to be fair to them when i was with them and our speedtouch modem went haywire they sent out a replacement within a few days, in fact they kept sending them out until we had 6 lying about.

in the end they just told us to keep them.

i'd give them a bell after all your paying for their service.

yeah i have an old one......you are more than welcome to it if you have no luck on this thread
